I was in school when I started working... And it changed the way I saw education. Instead of all books and no experience, I began to understand things faster and see how companies operate in the real world. From solving business case studies to actually solving real business problems at a micro level, I gained perspective. I saw firsthand how brands leverage social media to acquire and retain customers, and how collaborations and alliances can drive business growth. Reflecting on this journey, I realize how much I’ve grown beyond the confines of textbooks. The internships not only equipped me with essential skills but also instilled confidence and a sense of direction. For anyone starting, prioritize learning practical skills from the get-go. #InternshipStory #LearningBeyondBooks #CareerJourney #StudentExperience #ProfessionalGrowth

When I began my undergrad 3 years ago, I had a clear goal going into it: I wanted to supplement my theoretical learning with practical experience. Luckily, I was able to work at 7 companies of different levels and industries, in different roles and verticals. I’ve always loved business and wanted to understand how companies are built from the ground up. The best way to do that was to start as small as possible and gradually shift to bigger and bigger work environments. These internships gave me a deep knowledge of how different industries work and helped me build a keen ability to be user-centric which has helped me in ALL my endeavours. If there are any current students reading this: 1. Please don’t hesitate to directly reach out to founders whom you aspire to be like, and ask them for one chance. 2. There’s no guarantee that they will respond, but play the odds. Play for the 1 of the 10. 3. For your first internship, even if all you get is compensation for your commuting expenses, jump at it! 4. You have to start somewhere, and this is the BEST time to start because it’s literally a no-strings-attached, gain-gain situation. 5. Just ensure that the people you work with are those whom you want to be like. 6. Get face-time with the do-ers and changemakers – those are always the kind of people you want to surround yourself with. At the first company I joined in a proper intern capacity, the founder took a chance on me and I stayed with the company for 1.5 years. My two cents for employers and new founders: Bet on young students who are hungry to learn. You have no idea how enriching the experience could be for them, and how beneficial it could be for you. –––––– Thank you for reading this post! I use this space to talk about business and marketing strategies, art, and my experiences during my undergrad. "𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 2025 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳?" If by now you're still thinking this way, there is a fundamental problem. If your mindset is to wait until January to plan for the new year, you’re missing the mark. Over the weekend, I completed a qualifying assessment for an internship opportunity starting in 2025. This got me wondering that organizations are already putting things in place against the next year, why would I not do same? Take a look at those in politics; most of them start planning for the next year well in advance, sometimes just a few months into the current year. So, why would you postpone your own plans? The time to "prayerfully" strategize is now. You have the advantage of time, use it wisely. Wishing you a week filled with granted desires and maximum productivity! #planahead #newyeargoals #mondaymotivation

Today Nathan Weaver shares #VoiceoftheRookie insight on...Willingness to Learn...."Coming from a collegiate humanities background into a business internship, I found that there were elements of our office workflow which were simply unnatural to me. Early in our intern team’s work I found myself struggling to carve out a productive niche. This led me to investigate other aspects of the business in my own time to maximize both my learning and productivity. This research led me down the rabbit hole of business development. I figured I’d be sitting in meetings and asking lots of questions. I worried that my curiosity would be a hindrance to the workflow of my higher ups and if I was “staying in my lane”. But that wasn’t the case. My proactive approach to learning about the business led me to where I am now. Being willing to learn and allowing my ego to take a backseat has allowed me to be a supportive team member in ways I did not expect, and now have gained a true interest in." #internships #productivity #Supplychainmanagement #ego #willingtolearn

" 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬, 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭?" Especially when you’re going the off-campus route. It can feel overwhelming, but here’s what worked for me: I just needed a kickstart. Let me share how I got an internship shortlist from Think School. It all started on 12th February 2023, when I attended my first-ever in-person workshop by Ganeshprasad S, an educator whose case study videos had been a game-changer for me. Before this, topics like business case studies, geopolitics, and economics felt complex. But his way of simplifying tough concepts was captivating. He didn’t just teach; he made me fall in love with the subject. In that workshop, 3-4 hours flew by—it never felt like a workshop. Inspired, I decided to do something new: I posted my first LinkedIn post about the event. That one small step changed everything. Opportunities, new perspectives, and a network started opening up for me. 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤, 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝: ✨ 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫—𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. ✨ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲—𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐈 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤. Those little moments eventually led to something —a shortlist. This was a defining moment for me, and it’s been a series of small adventures ever since. A huge thank you to the Think School ® team, Ganeshprasad S, and Parsh Kothari sparking new perspectives. To anyone reading this, follow them—they won’t disappoint. What’s one moment in your journey that opened unexpected doors? Let’s celebrate those steps! PS: Had a different plan by then, that's why not proceeded with internship. Two make or break learnings from one of my Internships ✅ Maintain a record of what you are doing It's pretty simple, just use an excel sheet or a journal from day 1 and make sure to update before you log off. ✅ It's always about both working as well as showcasing your efforts That excel sheet is not only for you my friend, share a track record of your performance at a fixed interval with your manager (daily, once in 2-3 days or weekly) More ? Sure, Soon - Until then; lets connect! #career #learning #strategy

🌟 How much of your success comes from “learning on the job”? Chances are, a significant chunk of your skills and expertise were honed not in a classroom, but in the real world, solving real problems. That's why we're drawn to internships, volunteering, and other hands-on opportunities. They let us take what we think we know and put it to the test, all while building an impressive resume that catches employers' eyes. This is the entire point of externships, like those at TripleTen. Externships are like internships, but with a twist: they let you apply what you learn in the classroom to real business challenges — so you're not getting someone's coffee, you're hands-on with tech. Imagine building a product or streamlining a process as part of your education! Curious to see the impact? Check out how our students recently completed an externship with Synthesis Workshop, an open-access video podcast. It’s proof that a bootcamp with an externship could be your ticket to breaking into tech and launching a new career. 🚀 #TechCareers #BootcampLife #HandsOnLearning #CareerChange For the video portion of this, see our blog here: https://lnkd.in/gNmQS8DA
