#Femtech is booming! Was a panelist on Women In Bio - Engage. Educate. Empower. focused on women's health and FemTech investment trends. Wonderful to hear from my esteemed panelists and inspiring women Angela Vanscoy Sheila Ann Mikhail and Mitzi Krockover, MD! Also spent a week in Europe and had a chance to meet with Marleen ten Damme kick ass founder of Vi and I can confirm - European #femtech companies are on a roll 💪🏻. Interesting read by Leah Hodgson and key insights from panel: ✨ Femtech funding in Europe is up from 2023 ✨ Numbers heavily skewed by Flo Health Inc. $200mln raise ✨ Investors in Europe like apps, less so biotech and medical devices ✨ Funding of fertility and maternal health, is easier than menopause, uterine health, and urinary health. ✨ Overall we are starting to see more unicorns and successful exits. ✨ Women's health is now the fastest growing area of innovation. Exciting to see progress for Women's health and FemTech! Have a great week 💪🏻🙌🏻! #femtech #femtechfuture #womenshealth #femtechfounders #corporatechampions #ecosysteminnovators #femtechatwork FemTech Future Limited

Flo Health’s journey to unicorn status is nothing short of inspiring... and challenging. Tamara Orlova, CFO of Flo Health, has been front and centre, navigating the complexities of building investor confidence in the often-overlooked femtech sector. It’s a reminder of the unique obstacles facing women’s health innovation in a predominantly male-dominated investment landscape. Her approach? Early and strategic relationship-building with investors who see the value. For Flo, investor communication started well before funding rounds. It's a journey that shows that gaining investor confidence in an untested market is as much about strong metrics as it is about building meaningful partnerships. It’s an encouraging signal to all of us passionate about women’s health - let’s hope it opens doors for even more progress in the femtech space. #Femtech #Innovation #WomensHealth

Just got back from Slush and can't wait to share some incredible startups I saw and met: In Parallel: Hyperaligning strategy with execution. Company launched at Slush last week, these folks are all about next-level collaboration and strategy tools. OASYS NOW: Streamlining clinical trials with AI-powered patient recruitment platform. Oasys won the Slush 100 last week, securing $1M in prize money. They turn months of patient recruitment into minutes. Mohana: Women's health, reimagined. Helping women navigate perimenopause with real insights and action plans. Finalist at Slush 2024—the future of femtech is here. Project Bay: Regenerating local communities. Project Bay has created an amazing workspace on Rügen Island, Germany, for digital nomads who want productivity without borders, and they are looking to scale to other local communities. These startups are rewriting the playbook in work, health, and collaboration. Keep an eye out; they’re just getting started. The above are my personal views and not my company's.

🌟 Exciting news from the world of #WomenInTech and #DigitalHealth! 🌟 MIDI, a groundbreaking menstrual cycle management startup, is set to revolutionize a crucial yet often overlooked area of women's health. Founded by dynamic duo Aisha Abdullah and Nia Holland, MIDI promises to deliver a comprehensive digital platform tailored for menstruators, bridging a significant gap in the market. 🚀 Since its inception in 2022, MIDI has secured a hefty $2.5 million from forward-thinking investors like Precursor Ventures and Seedcamp. This funding fuels the development of a platform equipped to provide personalized cycle tracking, educational resources, and peer support, all informed by cutting-edge Machine Learning algorithms. 👩💻 As a woman in tech myself, I remember the early days of my career struggling to find suitable resources for managing menstrual health discreetly and efficiently. MIDI's vision of creating a digital haven for menstruators not only resonates with me but also highlights an essential shift towards inclusivity and empowerment in technology. 💡 What's more? MIDI's comprehensive approach promises to demystify menstrual health through educational content covering menstrual hygiene to sexual health. Plus, their community feature fosters a safe space for users to connect, share, and grow—something I wish had been available during my own journey. As MIDI gears up for their full launch in late 2024, I'm particularly excited about the potential ripple effects of merging technology with empathetic healthcare. 🙋♀️ Let's talk - what technological advancements in health have impressed you the most lately? Do you see a rising trend in personalized health management apps? 📢 Share your views and experiences! Despite the fact endometriosis impacts about 10% of women worldwide, it takes an average of 10 years to get diagnosed for most women. Often mistaken for menstrual pain, many women endure years of life-altering pain and suffering before receiving a proper diagnosis. Cenfluence Cluster Member FlowIntell is using the regional innovation ecosystem to develop a non-invasive at-home test and a telehealth app that will quickly and cost-effectively determine whether the user has endometriosis. In fact, Flowintell aims to make its first 60 tests available to customers by 2026. Named a 2024 startup to watch by regional partners Orlando Tech Community and Orlando Inno, Flowintell has also worked with StarterStudio and joined the Rally as they try to create lasting, positive social change by educating women and healthcare professionals on endometriosis. With all the buzz around Flo Health Inc. this week, let’s not forget to shine a light on other incredible women-led companies in the health tech space. 💪🏼 At MDisrupt, we are immensely proud of the women’s health companies we work with. Founding a company is tough. It’s even tougher when you’re a female entrepreneur (we only get 2% of venture dollars) and even more challenging when you’re building for women’s health. Yet, women: 👉🏼 Are 51% of the population 👉🏼 Make 80% of healthcare decisions 👉🏼 Birth 100% of the future (credit: Naseem Sayani (she/her) Sayani) So, when we encounter women-led companies that have defied the odds, raised funds, and are determined to grow this category, we cheer them on and support them wholeheartedly. Here are some outstanding women-founded companies in women’s health that we love working with : ❤️ Hera Biotech, founded by Somer Baburek, MBA - Endometriosis diagnostics ❤️ Mission-Driven Tech, founded by Eve McDavid and Onyinye Balogun, MD MS - Modernizing cervical cancer treatment ❤️ 2X Health, founded by Kelly Lacob and Adriana Dantas - Stealth mode ❤️ Lōvu Health, founded by Noel Pugh - Digital maternal health platform ❤️ Mosie Baby, founded by Maureen Brown - At-home artificial insemination And here are some trailblazing women-led companies in healthtech that we’ve had the privilege to work with at MDisrupt: ☀️ 23andMe, founded by Anne Wojcicki - Direct-to-consumer genetics ☀️ Evidation, founded by Deborah Spencer and Christine Lemke and clinical ops leader Joyce H. N. Nortey, MPH, MSBH - Patient engagement platform ☀️ Everly Health, founded by Julia Cheek - At-home testing. ☀️ Macro Trials, founded by Iana Dimkova - Precision clinical research.
