Last week I had the pleasure of joining a very interesting panel on “EU pharma reform: what to expect.” at the "𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐋𝐚𝐰 & 𝐈𝐓 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲" conference. I would like to thank Ioanna Michalopoulou for organizing such an insightful discussion with impactful messages. As well as all the panelists Paola Sangiovanni, Dena Nikolaidis, Jenny Papadonikolaki, Claudia Lützeler, Francisco Aranega and An Vijverman for the engaging discussions we held around the balance Europe needs to strike between maintaining is competitive edge and strategic autonomy whilst safeguarding patients access to medicines. 💶 Healthcare systems cannot afford to get it wrong. 🎯 The initial objectives of the pharmaceutical reform need to remain in focus as we gear up for further discussions on the Pharma Package at EU level. 💡 Let's move towards a more agile economic framework to reward healthy competition. 💊 It will boost Europe's manufacturing competitiveness and lower dependency risks for essential medicines.
The EU Pharmaceutical Reform will lead to major changes in the area of pharmaceutical policy and therefore, regulatory developments in the near future. Thank you very much Katerina Patavou for your crucial contribution, especially with regard to preparing the pharmaceutical industry at European and Greek level to adapt to these potential changes together with Jenny Papadonikolaki and Dena Nikolaidis.
Kudos to everyone.
