Kinda liked trialling this one out on the Highcross account today 🤓
#personality vs #brand content… or a mix of the two?
Does a companies personality online become their brand and therefore the ultimate advertising strategy?
Or, do you prefer to see banging sales ads that are to the point and tell you what you want to see?
Thoughts below please! 👇🏻
Whittaker is 25 years old this year. I’ve been reflecting on just how far we’ve come.
When I was 18, I wrote a business plan on a yellow legal pad of paper my mom had.
The plan included a tax business. It shaped how I chose my major in college.
After graduating, I worked my way up through KPMG to become a manager. I was 29, Shelley was 5 months pregnant with our first child and I knew it was time to leave the corporate world.
So I took a leap of faith to start my own business.
I didn’t know where the journey would take us.
Now, 25 years later, we have a team of 14 people which includes my wife Shelley and my son Justin. We’re proud to serve 58 very successful businesses and families.
It’s certainly been a journey. As any leader knows, there are times when it’s a battle and times when it’s smooth.
No matter what, I’ve enjoyed the process.
For me, it’s about growing a team that’s better today than they were yesterday. It’s about helping my clients' families create wealth.
It’s about people.
Ultimately, we’re a family serving families.
We’re looking forward to celebrating this milestone as a team by visiting La Jolla for two days with our significant others. Look out for the pictures in July!

For those of you that knew Doug Hardman, you'll likely resonate with the words of one of Doug's partners, Keith Oliver, who wrote the following of Doug's passing.
****
As many of you are aware, Doug Hardman passed away in Riverside CA on August 27th. He was 66 years old. Doug joined Booz Allen originally in 1985, rejoined in 1992, was elected partner in 1994 and retired in 2018. Because of the multiple transitions in the firm from Booz Allen and Hamilton through Booz & Co. to Strategy &, several of us felt that Doug's considerable institutional contributions deserved some formal recognition. Doug Hardman was a classic, old style functional partner of Booz Allen and Hamilton. He grew people and clients.
People loved to work for and with Doug. His functional depth was universally recognised as was his ability to pass it on to others. But the learning experience of working with Doug was not limited to functional expertise. His command of the consulting craft skills enabled him to train others in job management, communication, presentation and client handling, preparing them for their own progression in the firm. Furthermore, this process with Doug was relatively painless, due in no small part to Doug's patience and generosity in both time and judgement. The number of individuals who have acknowledged their debt to him in their progress towards the partnership is testament to his influence and success in growing people, a critical success factor in the consulting business.
Doug's relationships with clients were measured not in weeks or months but in years. So what did Doug bring that so endeared him to clients? Practicality, certainly, but perhaps even more important was his quiet self-effacing style. If anyone epitomised the belief that decibels are not a good measure of influence, it was Doug Hardman. When this is combined with the patience and generosity observed in his interfaces with staff, the composite package is clearly very conducive to the kinds of long term relationships that he built and that are critical in building a successful and enduring consulting business.

Join us on 5th December with Kate Eades and our magnificent panel, Tebogo Brenda Albert, Alessandro Galtieri, and Brian Chadwick to reflect on another Year of Transformation in the Legal Industry . #KPMGLaw
As we near the close of 2024, it’s a moment to pause and reflect on the seismic shifts we've witnessed. Come for a festive breakfast and connect with other GC / inhouse colleagues on how you have managed 2024. From the continued ripples of global geopolitics to local reckonings, the challenges and opportunities for the legal profession have never been sharper.
👉 This year has reminded us of our interconnectedness but also how political discourse can expose division. Geopolitical tensions, sanctions and elections continue to complicate supply chains and brand values forcing legal teams to navigate an ever-changing landscape of compliance, reputational and risk management. Meanwhile, the Post Office Scandal inquiry has been a sobering reminder of the role accountability, ethics, morality, integrity and how GCs are pivotal in ensuring transparency, building trust and speaking truth to power.
👉 How will GCs operate in 2025 when press scrutiny continues to focus on their role, duties and failures (over and above the role of CEO, Chair and other senior leaders in corporate scandal).
👉 The rapid evolution of AI has also been a defining theme. Beyond efficiency gains, it has sparked urgent debates around ethics, bias, and the future of work, what role does the GC play in the balance of human judgment and technological capability?
👉 Wellbeing remains another constant thread. With burnout still a pressing issue, who is "winning" in supporting teams and fostering a culture of sustainable performance? For legal professionals, who often shoulder the weight of complex decisions, this has been a year of recognising the importance of balance and resilience.
As we reflect on these changes, we should be discussing which direction the role of legal professionals is evolving. Beyond technical expertise, GCs remain critical advisors on strategic, moral, and societal questions. Some in business may prefer to "narrow" their remit, shove them into swim lanes or lock them out of critical debates. Do you agree? These are complex dynamics, you're invited to join the debate.
👇 What key changes have you noticed this year, and how are they shaping your view of the legal profession in 2025 and beyond? Let’s start the conversation. Register below: https://lnkd.in/eeD3c5ze#LegalIndustry#AIandEthics#Wellbeing#Geopolitics#LeadershipJodi Bartle
