Join us for an artist’s talk and live demonstration tomorrow at 12:00pm with Jeffrey Bohl, whose sculpture Ellie is featured in the 2024 West Michigan Area Show! Bohl has been creating bronze sculptures for over 16 years, exhibiting along the way in numerous regional competitions and in several individual shows. He pours most of his bronzes in his own backyard, using foundry equipment he has designed and built himself. He creates sculptures by assemblage, first creating various hollow wax forms, then looking for relationships between those individual shapes and assembling them into compelling larger forms. Bohl tends toward light-hearted figurative work and has been creating animal forms for the last few years. His work is represented by J. Petter Gallery in Saugatuck. This event is FREE! Register today at: https://lnkd.in/gPs3HyKD Be sure to stop by the West Michigan Area Show before June 24 to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award! The winner of this award, sponsored by the Arts Council of Great Kalamazoo, will be announced during Art Hop on Friday, July 12, at 6:00 pm. #ArtForEveryone #KalamazooInstituteofArts #KIA #KirkNewmanArtSchool #KNAS #Kalamazoo #Art #KalamazooArt

Nature is in a pinch. Without humans, it's just passively waiting for another asteroid to hit Earth, natural climate change which will kill 90+% of all species, or just wait 5 billion more years for the sun to explode, and then, it's game over. On the other hand, if humans get their shit together, nature via humans can fly off of this rock, and spread across the galaxy, transforming it into a giant garden of Eden. It's just waiting for humans to awaken to this bigger purpose for their existence, stop their self-hatred and regain their self-esteem. Nature doesn't give a crap if we kill polar bears. How many "polar bear like" creatures could exist if humans spread life throughout the galaxy? On the other hand, if we crawl back into our caves, in a technopoor society, feeling guilty for our reckless behaviour with nature, then nature will have lost on all fronts.

This artwork touched me and I was wondering why? After some soul searching, it struck me. For me it is the about the human relationship with nature. We literally mould nature to our advantage. Often we even squeeze it. As humans we are also a very large and dominant force. We are now in disproportionate numbers and impact combined with the nature around us. What does this sculpture trigger for you? #regeneration #circulareconomy #nature 🎭 credit: Mehmet Ali Uysal in the outskirts of Liege, Belgium

🍫 In the Galeries Royales Saint Hubert, also known as the Chocolate Arcade in Brussels, a sculpture of a man with a big question mark over his head caught my attention. ❓ There are actually many different versions of the same sculpture, but I think the selectivity in perception and the question mark itself interested me more. Just like the statue, question marks are above our heads. It is up to us to get rid of them, otherwise they will weigh us down just like the statue. ❌ Some we can reduce by planning, some by making radical decisions, some by taking action, some by deciding that they are no longer important to us. ❓What is your biggest question mark? I wish you a wonderful week free of question marks! #personaldevelopment #mindset #strategicdecisions

Our maps have many uses! How would you use your Landiscor aerial map in your business?
When you’ve got as many local scenes in your portfolio as artist Diana Madaras does, why not highlight them on a map? Visitors to Madaras Gallery in Tucson can now get a visual of the locations that inspired many of Diana’s iconic paintings, thanks to this map we produced using miniature art prints on foamcore over a grayscale map of Tucson from our own Landiscor Real Estate Mapping. What locations would you feature on a custom map for your business? #imagecraftaz #madarasgallery #landiscormaps #fineartreproductions

#snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking This is my most favourite place in our college, The sculpture "உளியும் நானும்". It depicting a man carving himself typically represents themes of self-discovery, personal growth, and self-creation. This kind of sculpture symbolizing the process of shaping one's own identity, character, and destiny. The imagery suggests that an individual has the power to transform and mold themselves through their actions and decisions. It can also imply the importance of introspection and self-awareness in personal development. The sculpture captures the idea that each person has the ability to take control of their own narrative and evolve into the person they aspire to be.

#sulenetaylorart #themindisahouse #digitalvectorart sulenetaylorart.com/blog/ Inspiration from Artworks (#7) ThreeSheep House is part of #themindisahouse art series. It has been inspired by a sculpture by Cees van Swieten. He is a Dutch sculptor who normally uses two types of materials to create animals in an open space. The work which stirred my imagination was made from rocks fused with metal to create three fun looking sheep. Van Swieten’s work matches the theme of #themindisahouse. He takes different types of matter and fuse a new “revelation” out of mere rock and scrap metal. Our minds work in a similar way and use different stimuli which over time gets fused together to form new disclosures. Using the creation of ThreeSheep House as a trivial example, I will explain how one’s mind can put together different ideas and images in one concept. (More ... sulenetaylorart.com/blog/)

🎨 **"Spectator: Exploring Duality"** 🤔 In this sheet metal sculpture, two abstract faces gaze in opposite directions. The interplay between their forms invites contemplation: Are they observing the world or wrestling with inner conflict? 🌟 As humans, we often navigate dualities—balancing work and life, creativity and structure, innovation and tradition. Let this artwork remind us that complexity can lead to growth. 🌱” #ArtInspires #AbstractSculpture #LinkedInArtPost --- 👇 Please feel free to share your thoughts on this artwork in the comments! 👇
