Everyone and welcome back to Tipsy Thursday. So we had the pleasure of attending Legislative Day in Sacramento once again, but this time representing San Mateo Counties Young Professionals Networking Group as Vice Chair. Point of Legislative Day is for us Realtors to meet with our legislators and advocate for policies that are meant to increase home ownership in California. Here's the inside scoop on some troubling facts that we brought up to our legislators. As of 2024, only 15% of the state's working families are able to afford a medium. Placed home California population is nearly 40 million, but there's only enough housing for about 25,000,000. And according to the California Department of Community Development, the state must build 180,000 housing in order to keep pace with the population growth. Lack of home ownership opportunities was the main reason that working Californians are leaving the state, along with the companies that employ them. Which has led to skyrocketing prices, widening the wealth gap between those who are able to afford a home and those who are not able to afford one. Here at the Arcadians Sebastian group, we made sure that our legislators heard these major concerns from us and we cannot make it more possible for you to be a homeowner one day and just next time on tips you Thursday.
