🎄 Holiday Traditions: A Soundtrack of Connection and Reflection 🎶 There’s something timeless about the golden era of holiday music—Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” or the jazzy, whimsical notes of Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas. These songs remind us of a season that’s not just about gifts, but about moments: laughter around the tree, snowy evenings with loved ones, and the quiet pause to reflect on the year. For me, films like Christmas Vacation and the melodies of old-school holiday classics evoke a sense of nostalgia and connection, grounding us in what truly matters—community, joy, and shared traditions. As we approach the holidays, I’d love to know: what are your go-to classics that bring back those moments of warmth and connection? 🎁 #LeadershipThroughConnection #HolidayTraditions #ReflectiveLeadership

"How do I survive the holiday alone?” is a question we ask ourselves as the season approaches. As we approach the holiday season and are faced head-on with the familiarity of holiday music, Christmas lights, seasonal flavors, and, best or worst of all, family, our memories will most definitely begin to surface. Here's what we can do to manage: https://buff.ly/3By0cCC

(intro to "Snakes For the Divine" by High On Fire kicks in) Your way of thinking is DEAD. My way of thinking is the certain and correct FUTURE. There is NO MIDDLE GROUND. Your favorite band SUCKS. Your local sports team SUCKS. You SUCK. (music fades out...) "Hi everyone! That covers our housekeeping for today's webinar. Today we're going to learn about..."

Happy Monday! The last week or so I’ve had this thing running through my mind. This will be the first in a series of 4 weekly thoughts that come from a recent podcast of an interview with Vince Gill (Stephan Hogan's – Creative Evolution). For anyone who’s not in the know, Vince is a country musician (guitar player, singer, songwriter) and has won 22 Grammy Awards, eight Academy of Country Music awards, and 18 Country Music Association awards. Not exactly a lightweight. In this interview Vince talks about playing with the Eagles for the last 8 years and shares the following story (background: Vince is warming up at sound check and is singing one of his own songs): Don Henley: what is that song? It’s gorgeous. Vince Gill: It’s a song I had out 15 years ago. Don: we need to work that up and do it. Vince: With all due respect, I’d rather not. Don: Why? Vince: I don’t want to give these people one more reason to not like me. I don’t want anybody sitting out there saying I didn’t come here to hear Vince’s songs, I came here to hear the Eagles. Don: I respect that. That is powerful. What a beautiful example of commitment to purpose over ego. Vince could easily have jumped at the chance to play his own music in front of thousands of people every night. Probably would have sold a few more records, too. Instead, he said, “All due respect, I’d rather not.” Each of us is playing some sort of role on a team almost all the time. It made me pause and ask myself how often I’m letting ego get in the way of the purpose. This week my challenge to myself and each of you: let’s look at our role on various teams and ask ourselves if we are appropriately setting our egos aside to support the purpose. If we’re not, let’s take the steps to make it happen. Make it a great week! #mondaythought #continuousimprovement

A Symphony for the Soul Tonight, I’ll attend the symphony alone. Just me, the music, and the quiet space for reflection. In the busyness of life, where decisions, responsibilities, and commitments demand so much of us, taking intentional time to pause feels essential. When the orchestra begins, I expect it to stir something deeper—something words often can’t touch, but music effortlessly reveals. Each note will serve as a reminder: solitude is not emptiness; it’s clarity. It’s a moment to recalibrate, to hear the whispers of purpose, and to reconnect with what truly matters. This evening is not about escape; it’s about returning. Returning to the core of who I am, the values I hold, and the faith that sustains me. It’s a moment of freedom and strength—an opportunity to reflect and grow in the stillness. Whether in music or in business, there is power in stepping away from the noise. Moments of quiet reflection lead to renewed focus and greater impact. Tonight, I’ll let the symphony guide me, because even in the quiet, I know I am never truly alone.

🎶 Back from an incredible mini vacation! 🎶 We went to see KoRn, Gojira, and Spiritbox live—and let me just say, KoRn still brings the energy like they did 30 years ago! 💥 Happy 30th anniversary to KoRn—I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, and they continue to be one of my top favorite bands to this day. The passion they put into their music, even after three decades, is something I truly admire. This got me thinking—longevity and staying power are key, whether in the music industry or the business world. Just like KoRn has adapted to changing music trends while staying true to their sound, businesses need to evolve without losing sight of their core values. In both worlds, staying relevant is all about: 1. Consistency: Delivering quality over the years builds loyalty and trust—whether it’s in music or your professional work. 2. Adaptability: Being open to innovation while keeping your essence intact is how you stand the test of time. 3. Passion: It’s hard to fake real passion. When you love what you do, that energy shines through, and people gravitate toward it. 💡 What’s one lesson from music or life that you apply in your professional world? #KoRn #BusinessLessons #ProfessionalGrowth #Longevity #Consistency #Adaptability #Passion #CareerGrowth

Music Monday: Life Lessons from Billy Joel Recently, I was listening to Billy Joel's Scenes From an Italian Restaurant. If you haven’t heard it, do yourself a favor and look it up on YouTube (a live version if you can find one). It’s like a rock opera - piano, horns, saxophones - telling us about Brenda and Eddie. There’s a line in the song that really made me stop and think: "We never knew we could want more than that out of life." Powerful, right? It’s a reminder of how easy it is to get stuck in the “boxes” we grow up in - falling for mimetic desire or keeping up with the Joneses. Sometimes, we don’t even realize there’s more out there to want or strive for. As financial professionals—especially those of us who focus on financial life planning or human-first guidance - this is our sweet spot. We have the privilege of helping clients: ✅ Expand their possibilities: What’s available to them often goes beyond what they think. ✅ Dream smarter: Retire at 65 with $5 million? Maybe. But why? Let’s dig deeper. Our role is to help clients see that they can want more out of life—and build a plan to make it happen, thoughtfully and intentionally. What's a lyric or a song that’s made you stop and think recently?
