As the January deadline approaches for TikTok to be sold to an American firm or face a nationwide ban, the Chinese-owned social media giant is quietly deepening its ties to a major company that is central to Americans’ daily life, and one of its biggest rivals: Amazon. It’s a strategic move that will make it harder to shut down TikTok here, industry insiders told Forbes. Some believe it’s a sign that Amazon is on the table as a possible buyer. “The writing is on the wall,” said Roee Zelcer, who until recently was TikTok’s head of sales for products and services for more than three years. And even if that acquisition doesn’t come to pass, Amazon’s cozy relationship with and growing reliance on TikTok will likely make the chorus of voices fighting a ban even louder. 🚨 Might Raise Eyebrows with Federal Regulators You know, if there’s one thing that really keeps regulators up at night, it’s the ol’ “too big, too fast” situation. Just ask TikTok and Amazon how their dance with country governments has gone (Spoiler: It’s less ballroom, more… dodgeball with subpoenas). TikTok’s found itself in a delicate situation. They thought they were serving up harmless viral dances, but now it’s more like “Dance Dance Revolution,” with regulators questioning their influence. And Amazon? Oh, they’ve had their fair share of eyebrow-raising moments—whether it’s counterfeit goods slipping through the cracks or certain tax… “efficiencies.” You can’t say they haven’t kept things interesting! When you operate at a scale that can shift entire markets, let’s just say Uncle Sam (and friends) tend to watch closely. So if your business model might leave room for interpretation, it’s probably time to get cozy with a legal team—or at least start writing them Christmas cards now. At the end of the day, keeping regulators calm is the ultimate high-stakes game of Jenga. One wrong move, and the whole thing can come crashing down… or worse, you’ll end up in front of a committee explaining why your app is more than just videos of people lip-syncing to Taylor Swift. #BusinessTrends #Amazon #TikTok #Regulations #TooBigTooFast #EntrepreneurLife

Is Amazon eyeing TikTok? 👀 TikTok (ByteDance) faces potential bans or forced sales in the U.S. due to national security concerns. Which creates an opportunity for its "frenemy" Amazon, wanting to expand social commerce footprint 👣 Imagine Amazon having access to TikTok's vast and engaged (not to mention young!) user base as well its data analytics capabilities and engagement algorithms? 🤳 What would be the potential implications of an acquisition? No doubt Amazon+TikTok would be a social commerce powerhouse, reshaping the competitive landscape. But it would likely face scrutiny from regulators. Consumers might benefit from more seamless, engaging shopping experiences, but at what cost to market diversity? And personally, any increase in impulse buys would definitely hurt my wallet... 💸💸💸 What are your thoughts?

We are coming to the point where every Business Becomes a Media Company. In today's digital landscape, a fascinating trend is emerging: companies are discovering they're not just in their traditional business—they're ad platforms with a side hustle. Look at Amazon's jaw-dropping ad business. At approximately $54 billion, it's outperforming retail operations and even challenging its own AWS, a revenue stream that barely existed just a few years ago. In 2021, this was a $25 billion business. Now? It's a media powerhouse. The pattern is everywhere: Samsung TVs: Selling screens or selling ads? Netflix: Not just entertainment, but an ad platform Tesci: Even your local supermarket website when buying groceries. This shift raises provocative questions: What business are you really in? How much more can human attention be monetised? If you have an audience, why aren't you an ad platform? The digital economy truth continues to be seen more and questioned more: attention is the new currency. The amazing thing here is every platform with eyeballs is just one strategy meeting away from becoming a media company.

This Is How We Helped a UK Brand Bring £10K in Monthly Sales with TikTok Shop. While everyone else is playing catch-up We listed thousands of products straight from Amazon. We launched flash sales that created urgency and excitement. We crushed it with TikTok ads to get eyes on our offers. Then, we transformed the top-performing products into a white-label business. No one see the grind behind the curtains (seriously) The relentless hustle to turn views into cash. The late nights tweaking listings. What they don’t realize is: We priced the products just $2 less than the competition. We started off earning from shipping costs while building momentum. We kept pushing until sales skyrocketed. And guess what? That could be you. While... The competitors sit on the sidelines, you take action. While they hesitate, you scale confidently. While they wait, you sell. Imagine yourself "flexing!" :) Want to take your brand to the next level? Book a 1:1 consultation call!
