⚓ ⛴ Indian Navy Decline ⛴ ⚓  ]  💥🛥 By the end of the 15th century, Indian naval power had started to decline, and had reached its low by the time the Portuguese entered India. Soon after they set foot in India, the Portuguese started to seize all Asian vessels, not permitting their trade. 💥🛥 Amidst this, in 1529, a naval war at Bombay Harbor resulted in the surrender of Thane, Karanja and Bandora. By 1534, the Portuguese took complete control over Bombay Harbor. The Zamorin of Calicut challenged the Portuguese trade when Vasco da Gama refused to pay the customs levy as per the trade agreement. 💥🛥This resulted in two major naval wars; the first one- Battle of Cochin, was fought in 1504, and the second engagement happened four years later of Diu. Both these wars exposed the weakness of Indian maritime power and simultaneously helped the Portuguese to gain mastery over the Indian waters. 💥🛥However, in 1526, the Zamorin launched the siege of Calicut on the Portuguese forts in Calicut, successfully eliminating Portuguese influence in the city.  🛳 🛳 ⚓ ⚓ 🛳 🛳

Saudi National Day (known as "Al-Yaom Al-Watani"in Arabic) is celebrated annually on September 23 to commemorate the founding of the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz Al Saud. It marks the unification of the various regions of the Arabian Peninsula under one state in 1932. Historical Background of National Day Prior to 1932, the Arabian Peninsula was divided into several regions, including the Najd, Hejaz, Al-Hasa, and Asir, each ruled by different tribal factions and leaders. After years of military campaigns and negotiations, Abdulaziz Ibn Saud (Ibn Saud) successfully unified these regions under his rule. On September 23, 1932, a royal decree was issued, declaring the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with Riyadh as its capital. The Significance of National Day - Unification of the Kingdom: Saudi National Day celebrates the culmination of Ibn Saud's efforts to unify the Arabian Peninsula under a single sovereign state. The unification of the nation marked the beginning of modern Saudi Arabia and its transformation from a collection of tribal regions into a powerful state.

🇲🇻🇹🇷 Maldives drives further away from India, accommodates Turkish Warship in Male Following the endorsement of a lucrative agreement with Turkey for acquiring military drones to surveil the open waters in Maldives, Male now welcomes the Turkish warship TCG Kinaliada. This occurrence coincides with a period of strained relations between India and both Maldives and Turkey. 👁 The intention for the Turkish drones is to take over the role of Indian Dornier aircraft in conducting maritime operations and surveillance. The recently elected government in the Maldives, under President Mohamed Muizzu, campaigned on a platform advocating for reduced Indian presence, even leading to the expulsion of 77 Indian military personnel stationed in the island nation. 🇮🇳 After the new government assumed power in the Maldives, its relationship with New Delhi deteriorated significantly. Maldives not only welcomed Chinese ships but also began fostering closer ties with Turkey.

#Apartheid defined. 1940s: from Afrikaans, literally ‘separateness’, from Dutch apart ‘separate’ + -heid (equivalent of -hood). Apartheid refers to the implementation and maintenance of a system of legalized racial segregation in which one racial group is deprived of political and civil rights. The Apartheid (1948 to 1994) in South Africa was the racial segregation under the all-white government of South Africa, which dictated that non-white South Africans (a majority of the population) were required to live in separate areas from whites and use separate public facilities, and contact between the two groups would be limited. The different racial groups were physically separated according to their location, public facilities, and social life. #Israel is VERY different from South Africa and as far from the concept of racial segregation as possible. In fact, in 1991, Israel airlifted/rescued Ethiopian Jews and brought them to Israel so that they could be integrated into Israeli society. For an official analysis regarding Israel and apartheid: "Israel treats all of its citizens—be they Jew, Arab, or Druze—equally before the law, irrespective of any racial or ethnic differences. And, Israeli policies regarding application of military law, administrative detentions, defensive use of force, security check points, etc., in the “West Bank” and the Gaza Strip are all lawful security measures permitted under the Law of Armed Conflict. Accordingly, Israel’s actions are the very antithesis of apartheid, which should put to rest the apartheid lie once and for all." With China’s unprecedented rise and belligerence, global geostrategic action has begun to shift from South China Sea to the larger Indo-Pacific region. The US already has a huge air presence at Guam and Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Both are Island territories. US Trying to get more in Philippines. However, there are other Island airfields in the Indian Ocean Region. Diego Garcia, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, INS Baaz at Campbell Bay, and the IAF airbase at Car Nicobar getting renewed infra push.
