I wanted to make the coolest stuff. When I started Morpho, I didn’t care what products we’d make. Whether that was a chopstick or a smart home device… All I wanted is to become NO.1 in our industry. Build the best every niche had to offer. Compete on quality and not low cost. That’s how we made it possible to create a wide range of products. The downside is: We don’t have a one size fits all solution. When you come to us, we don’t know how much it’s going to cost. That’s why onboarding is so important … we figure out how your idea would look like as a product. We get the answers to price points, material, feasability reports, time line, and a plan to get a DFM design ready to rumble. Back to my question… How do you become the number one in an industry (you don’t know much about)? You break the rules. Break protocol. Stretch your imagination. When you’re dead set on making it happen, you just identify a few of the bigger levers that need to be pulled. Don’t stress about the details. Build a team of people who know more than you. It’ll work out as long as you give it that initial push. 🔔 Hit the bell for my next post. ✍🏽 Thoughts? Questions? Drop them below.

After engineering flagship stores for Apple and being in real estate for 18 years. In 2023, I realized I’d made a mistake: - 18 years in commercial real estate. - Years of my life working at Apple building stores. - A large chunk of my life dedicated to buildings and real estate. And guess what? I’d never even considered ownership 🤦♂️ (Yes, I agree I should have realized sooner 😂) I’d engineered buildings all over the world but never even considered investing in myself and my own real estate. And in truth… I think the same happens to a lot of people. We’re pushed towards a great job. We receive great benefits and options. And we spend large parts of our lives building someone else's dream. But it doesn’t have to be this way ❌ (And it honestly shouldn’t be 🤷♂️) - You can take control of your own dream. - You can start to invest and build something for your future. - And you don’t need to be locked into one traditional path. (Take it from me, it took me 18 years to realize it!) So, don’t spend your whole life working to someone else's dream. Take ownership and build your own ✅ ___ P.S. If you need a little direction, I’m always happy to help ✉️

Dear Designer, I've held this one pretty close to the chest... Today marks the first day Edge Kase Design Co. goes live. What a journey. What a challenge. I am in just straight awe. My Design career has been a 13+ year adventure filled with various jobs, people, bosses, projects, clients, mistakes, lessons, skills, tools, you name it. I'm nervous, excited, over the fu*cking moon right now. I have to thank so many people I wouldn't know where to get started. That's a lie, I know. I'll start with the one and the only Jeremy Miller It's funny how life works out. Jer was my first ever Design Lead at a little tech startup in New Orleans called Radolo run by Joshua Grippo. I didnt work with Jer that long but his coaching stuck with me all these years. Circle back many years later to today, I'm excited to share that he has joined me as Partner at Edge Kase Design Co. Jeremy brings his Design leadership experience to set our clients up for success in ways I wouldn't be able to do alone. What makes Edge Kase Design Co. different from other agencies and studios is that we directly partner with and integrate into well-funded startups and small companies who are struggling to start with great design, make their first design hire, and falling flat to deliver exceptional product design. We guide them through product strategy, build their team, and establish their design operations and foundations, all while delivering exceptional user experiences across their products. Is this something you're struggling with, or know someone who runs a company that needs better design? Get in touch. https://edgekasedesign.co/ --- #designinspiration #designthinking #designleadership #userexperiencedesign #userinterfacedesign #uxdesignmastery #productdesign #edgekasedesignco #designpartner

As the founder of Combine Design, when I build a team, it’s about more than just skills. I want to work with people who truly love design—not just as a job, but as something that’s part of who they are. That passion shows in every detail and it pushes everyone around them to do their best. For me, great design happens when ideas are shared openly and everyone’s voice matters. I want team members who value collaboration, who listen to others, and aren’t afraid to share their own thoughts. A great team is built on respect and openness, and that’s what leads to the best work. I also value people who take responsibility for their work and follow through. Trust is everything, and knowing I can rely on my team to deliver makes all the difference. Things don’t always go as planned in our industry but I appreciate team members who can adapt and keep going, no matter what comes up. Resilience is key to staying strong as a team. At Combine Design, it’s about more than just creating great work—it’s about creating a team where passion, curiosity, and teamwork come together. If you share this vision and love design as much as I do, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s connect and make something amazing together. #teambuilding #founder #business #networking

❓ What is it like working with Gen Z – A "Boomer's" Perspective As a 'boomer' in name only, I've had the pleasure of working with some fantastic Gen Z colleagues at CAD Service. It's been an enriching experience, blending the wisdom and discipline of my generation with the fresh perspectives and tech-savviness of the younger generation. 🌟 Fresh Perspectives and New Ideas – Millennial and Gen Z colleagues bring innovative ideas and a fresh outlook to the table. As they were practically raised on modern technologies, they are incredibly tech-savvy and quick to adapt to new tools and platforms. This energy and enthusiasm are contagious and inspire the entire team to think outside the box. 💻 Tech-Savvy Innovators – Watching the young generations effortlessly navigate complex software and digital environments is impressive. Their familiarity with technology accelerates project timelines and enhances our overall efficiency. Their ability to quickly learn and implement new tech solutions is a tremendous asset. ☝️ What about discipline and organization? – On the flip side, our 'boomer' generation brings a disciplined and organized mindset. We’ve honed our skills over decades of experience, which helps in creating structured workflows and maintaining consistency in project execution. And then, this synergy of innovative energy and disciplined execution is a winning combination. 🤝 All I can say is that the collaboration between generations at CAD Service has been incredibly productive. By combining the strengths of both age groups, we've been able to improve our processes, drive innovation, and enhance our organizational performance. In conclusion, working with Gen Z has been a delightful experience for me, and I look forward to continuing this journey of mutual learning and growth. #GenZ #Boomers #WorkplaceDiversity #Innovation #Collaboration #CADService #TechSavvy #OrganizationalExcellence

99.9% of people have "a great idea" 0.1% actually execute on it. It's addicting to: - Talk endlessly about your idea - Validate it in your own head - Never move past the planning stage The result? The idea dies in conversation. Real difference makers: - Keep ideas close - Act on the first step - Learn by taking action Remember: Ideas are worth nothing without execution. The market rewards results, not good intentions. Less talking. More doing. The best place to start is FL Worx. Do it here: www.flworx.com

Every day 6,000 people in the United States turn 65, and those 65 year olds are tech savvy. And so all of us who are designing things that are tech, we’re designing a world that we’re all gonna age into ourselves. And as you design for the younger part of this generation, you are going to have a willing participant group over the next 20 years. >> Awesome insight from Jennifer Cain Birkmose Jennifer and Viva Valet put their emphasis on co-designing solutions with their customers. I love this approach, and I think that companies want to emulate this approach when possible (regardless of the age of their customers). But too often, we jump to the solution too quickly in our excitement or in our haste. Relentlessly orienting a product or service around the customer will always be a differentiator.
