Be warned: Swiss German Video! - I recently undertook an intriguing personal project where I integrated a custom-soldered PCB into a second-generation Google Home Mini which is only able to process clearly syntax and ordered instructions. The objective was to enhance its command recognition capabilities, specifically to interpret and execute commands in Swiss German, pushing the boundaries of localized AI interaction within smart home technology. This experiment not only tested the device's flexibility beyond its standard operational parameters but also showcased the potential of local AI instances in understanding and processing dialect-specific, filler words loaded and intricate instructions. I'm currently refining the system to improve its response capabilities and plan to share a comprehensive video soon, detailing the technical processes involved from voice recognition to command execution. We have launched a new form of speakerphone based on local voiceprint recognition noise reduction. AnkerWork S600! This is the first product I have created since leaving DJI to join Anker, and it has been a challenging but exciting process! We have built an acoustic team that once won the Microsoft ICASSP noise reduction award, starting from the ground up with noise reduction algorithms, and using large model AI algorithms for noise reduction. In order to localize large model AI technology and protect user privacy, we boldly customized a multi-in-one NPU architecture chip that not only has powerful computing capabilities but also integrates functions like Bluetooth, reducing power consumption and cost, making it possible for high-quality speakerphone products with large model AI noise reduction algorithms to be available under $200. Moreover, through communication with hundreds of Ankerwork users who work from home, we found that the biggest noise at home actually comes from "children, family, friends, neighbors," and this problem cannot be distinguished through traditional beamforming analog noise reduction methods. I found inspiration in the Siri voice recognition of the Homepod, which requires internet connection and is not real-time, but if we could use similar technology to real-time eliminate other people's voices through local recognition, we could truly create the perfect noise-canceling speakerphone for WFH users! With the advantage of AI large model algorithms, we immediately established a specialized development for localized real-time voiceprint recognition technology, and after two years of R&D, we successfully incorporated this technology into a compact speakerphone. When we first tested the technology's effect on eliminating other people's voices, we were all amazed; other people's voices were eliminated up to 30dB! We believe that what we are doing will become the industry standard in the future, and we hope that more people can enjoy the comfort in work and life brought by technology.
