Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for another amazing dinner in San Francisco 🌟 can't wait for the next one! Folks at dinner shared some approaches to drive team outcomes: 🧩 Use the Outcomes, Perspective, Action (OPA) framework to guide team discussions and decision-making. 🎤 Use the Toastmaster meeting format (speaker, feedback, feedback on feedback) to improve communication and feedback processes. 🏆 Focus on both big and small tasks to build momentum. Use baby steps and celebrate small victories to drive progress. 🌐 Link the team’s work to broader goals and objectives. Find ways for the team to engage directly with customers to enhance their understanding of the impact of their work. It felt like a punch to the gut. I realized we were overlooking our small wins. You know that feeling? You're so focused on big goals that you miss the little victories. I found that ignoring small wins was hurting our team's morale. Each day, our team had small successes we didn't acknowledge. It made us feel less motivated and more disconnected. Once we started to celebrate our daily wins, the shift was incredible. You should try it. Acknowledge those small milestones. Celebrate them with your team and community. It builds pride, boosts morale, and fosters a positive vibe. Since we began, we've seen a rise in motivation and engagement. So, start celebrating those small wins. It’s worth it. It’s not just about the big achievements. The small wins matter too. Make them count. 💡 Like this post? Follow me to join my journey in helping you with self-development.

Team recognition is essential for a healthy team environment. Recognition comes in different forms to different people. I ask each of my team members how they prefer to be recognized so that I can provide the best experience for them. I recognize individuals and teams through both small and large recognitions. For example, a small recognition might be sending the team an email recognizing one individual for exceeding expectations. I will usually include an image such as the one below. Check back later for examples of giving larger recognitions. #LinkedIn30DayChallenge

Gratitude is the quiet strength of a team. Last month, our team took a much-needed break from the grind and spent the day at the beach during the tribe's outing. It wasn’t just about the sun, the waves, or the shared laughter over the bag of popcorns we brought from the office. It was a reminder of something deeper: the power of mutual gratitude. In our work, success is often measured by deliverables, milestones, velocity, and public recognition. But in moments like this, I see what really drives us: the quiet, unspoken understanding that we have one another’s back. What’s heartwarming is how our team doesn’t wait for big moments to express gratitude. It is always in the small gestures: - Someone stepping in to help without being asked. - A kind thank-you after a tough meeting. - Laughing it off together when mistakes are made, knowing we will learn and move forward as a team. We don't chase after recognition- we create it within the team. This shared appreciation has built a foundation that carries us through challenges and amplifies our successes. Looking at this photo, I am humbly reminded of how lucky I am to be part of this group. Here’s to more shared moments, on beaches and beyond. Having spent a lovely weekend celebrating our OOPS birthday with some of my team, I thought it would be nice to start the week off on a high note and celebrate the incredible work of some of your multigenerational teams! Each team member, with their unique experiences and perspectives, contributes to your collective success. Recognising these achievements isn't just about boosting morale; it’s about creating a culture of appreciation and continuous growth. Celebrating successes, big or small, strengthens bonds, builds trust, and promotes a positive work environment. When you take the time to acknowledge and appreciate your team members, you empower them to continue striving for excellence. So I'd love to hear some of your recent success stories. What milestones have your teams reached? How have different generations collaborated to achieve great things? Share your stories in the comments, and let’s inspire each other to aim even higher. #hospitalityindustry #teamengagement #teammanagement #customerexperience #leadershipdevelopment

4moIt was such a fun, insightful, and multi faceted discussion while breaking bread. The OPA framework is actually OPA! and toastmasters format was part of getting it enforced before it became second nature for my analytics team 😊 I came up with it for my team (during a walk in Hawaii 😁). OPA! means similar yet diverse things in multiple languages and sticks. The reaction from others at the dinner inspired me to write a guide on it to help others. Thanks for enabling such a rich platform for leadersJordana Stein and Poorni Bid for the great facilitation at dinner 👏🏼
