🎉 Yesterday marked two years since I came back to Level Accounting & Advisory ! 🎉
My journey here has been... a rollercoaster, to say the least. Let’s rewind to July 2019: I was nannying two young boys and craving what I thought was a "real job." So, when the opportunity to join Level Accounting popped up, I said, "Sure, why not? An office job sounds cool."
Fast forward through a lot of learning (and plenty of mistakes), I found myself in a staff accountant role. And, let me be real—I hated it. If I had to enter one more check, I was going to lose it. By October 2021, I hit what I now call my "quarter-life crisis leave of absence." I peaced out, jumped in the ocean with sharks (yes, actual sharks🦈), and had the time of my life.
But life has a way of pulling you back. A year later, I got a call: “Hey, are you looking for a job? We need part-time, seasonal help, and you know our systems.” I said yes because (a) I’m helpful like that 😉 and (b) I realized I missed the people more than I thought.
When my contracted time was up, I found myself hoping they’d ask me to stay. The company had grown a ton, and when Erin Andrews asked about my plans, we had a candid conversation about what I actually wanted. She knew accounting wasn’t my thing (shout out to her for reading the room), so we decided to try something new: marketing.
This role has lit a fire in me I didn’t know existed. It’s been exciting, challenging, and full of opportunities to grow (and, occasionally, mess up and fix it). The Level crew has been supportive from day one, pushing me to improve and take on new challenges.
So here’s to the past two years, the lessons learned, and the team that always has my back. Thanks, Level Accounting, for letting me carve out a role that makes me want to show up every day. 🙌
