Guess I’m a bit late to share, but the IMPACT FESTIVAL was too good not to talk about! 🌍 Ever wondered how we can collectively shape a sustainable future? 🍀 Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of joining the Impact Festival in Frankfurt - one of Europe’s largest events for sustainable innovation and investments, with over 5000 participants from business, politics and academics. Being among professionals dedicated to improving our society and planet was truly inspiring. There was so much to learn, with deep dives into critical topics like biodiversity, the circular economy, sustainable cities, and even the complexities of ESG data. I found the panel discussion "Beyond Growth - Redefining Prosperity for the Future" with Carlos Alvarez Pereira, Agata Meysner, Prof. Dr. Stephan Hankammer and Fabian Eckert especially thought-provoking. They unpacked the need for new definitions of prosperity in a world where growth needs to align with environmental and social goals. For this, we need new ideas and technologies by companies that take responsibility. Still, to bring these ideas to life, it takes visionary minds backed by private capital. This was why I found the sessions on impact investing so engaging, especially hearing from VCs on the role of sustainability in financial markets for startups: 💡Impact-focused startups don't really differ from traditional ones: they need a strong team, a smart business plan, and to solve real problems. 📈With today's global challenges, startups that tackle societal and environmental issues have the potential to drive economic growth as well as positive impact. 🌿Purely purpose-driven startups may struggle to secure traditional VC funding but can explore alternative financing to bring their ideas to life. TechQuartier‘s Impact Challenge was a good example for bridging the gap between startups and corporates, empowering sustainable and innovative solutions for a greener, more social tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how all of these ideas evolve and impact our collective future! 🌱 Btw proud to work at PwC Deutschland, as strategic partner of the festival, who actively support such important conversations and driving sustainable innovation forward. #ImpactFestival24 #Sustainability

🌍 🌟 🌿 And it's a wrap! Last week Jonas Petry and I had the chance to attend the GREENTECH FESTIVAL organized by Nico Rosberg. Here are my key learnings from attending the festival: #CircularEconomy practices are gaining traction as companies look to reduce waste and reuse materials. AI plays a significant role in optimizing supply chains and minimizing environmental impact. #SustainableCompanyCulture is more than just a trend; it’s a necessity. By integrating sustainability into the core values of a company, businesses can foster an environment that supports long-term ecological and economic benefits. #EmployeeEngagement in sustainability initiatives is essential. Companies that actively involve their employees in green practices see higher levels of participation and a stronger commitment to their sustainability goals. #SustainabilityEnablement is crucial for driving global environmental initiatives and ensuring that companies can thrive while being eco-conscious. With the advent of #AI, we can create more effective and personalized sustainability training programs tailored for large enterprises. #GreenInvestments are on the rise, with venture capitalists and angel investors recognizing the potential of eco-friendly startups. This influx of funding is driving innovation and growth in the sustainability sector. #AIinSustainability is not just about automating processes but also about enhancing them. From energy management systems to personalized training modules, AI is making sustainability more accessible and actionable for enterprises. During the festival, I had the pleasure of engaging in insightful conversations with some of the brightest minds in the industry. A special thanks to Thiemo Färber, Benedikt Reith, Annalena Hojenski, Gabriele Haessig, Sascha Weiler, Christoph Praun & all the other people we had a chance to exchange with. Your insights and passion for sustainability are truly inspiring, and I look forward to seeing how we can collaborate to make a positive impact on our planet. 🌿 Together, we can create a sustainable future. Let’s continue to innovate, invest, and inspire!

Last Friday, our colleague Giulia had the privilege of participating in a dynamic discussion during the “Making the transition” session at Transition Days hosted by Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli. The two working tables focused on open innovation and the digital & sustainable transition, but converged on the critical role of collaboration between companies, startups, academia, and institutions in accelerating a sustainable development of the ecosystem . The conversation touched on two key aspects: 🔷Culture & Ecosystems: How businesses must shift from a product-centric mindset to a more holistic approach, where technology is integrated thoughtfully and sustainably. 🔷Open Innovation: Emphasizing the importance of cross-sector collaboration, it was clear that diverse voices - from entrepreneurs to public institutions - must be heard for inclusive change. An inspiring takeaway? Transitioning toward sustainability isn’t just about technology; it’s about creating a culture of ongoing learning and inclusivity, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. By fostering ecosystems that bring together various stakeholders, we can ensure that no one is left behind in the digital transition. At Forest Valley, we believe in the power of partnerships to build a sustainable future, and this event reaffirmed our commitment to this mission. What is the role of collaboration in advancing sustainable innovation, and who are the key players in the ecosystem driving it forward? Share your insights below!

Hello, sustainability squad! 🌿🌍 Guess who's crashing Impact Day 2024? You? Me? Both of us? 👈😎 Oct 10-12, I'm diving headfirst into the biggest green party in the Baltics & Nordics at Põhjala Factory, Tallinn. And get this - I'm wearing two hats: community wizard extraordinaire AND the fresh-faced Sustainability Manager for sTARTUp Day 2025. Talk about leveling up! 🚀 "Less is More!" is the vibe this year, and I'm all about it. Time to get creative on shrinking our footprint while cranking up the impact. Got any wild ideas? I'm all ears! 👂 Here's the deal: I'm on a mission to make sTARTUp Day 2025 the greenest, meanest startup shindig ever. So, if you're at Impact Day, let's grab a drink (maybe something local and sustainable? 😉) and brainstorm: - How to throw killer events without trashing the planet; - Building startup communities that actually give a damn; - Making sustainability sexy in the innovation game. Seriously, your crazy thoughts could be the secret sauce for sTARTUp Day 2025. No idea too wild, no dream too big! So, who's ready to stir up some eco-trouble at Impact Day 2024? Let's get weird, get green, and make some noise! 🎉🌱 #ImpactDay2024 #SustainabilityRebels #StartupMadness #GreenRevolution P.S. If you see a guy with too much energy talking about leaders actions on this gamechange and community gardens, that's probably me. Come say hi!

Last Friday we took part in a very interesting #event: "Impact Ecosystems: How the platform model can support companies' transition to sustainability and inclusion". Traditional control-oriented #businessmodels based on value chain linearity are no longer sufficient to handle the complexity of today's world. Instead, organizations based on decentralization can encourage people and companies to be active and responsible players. One example is the '#platform' model, which is much more than just a digital service... And our Re4Circular platform is an example of this! The event was organized by startup Flowerista Società Benefit at Impact Hub Torino. Together with our Elena, there were super interesting speakers: Daniel Trabucchi, Senior Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Milano and Scientific Director of Platform Thinking HUB, Edoardo Ramondo, Partner of Impact Hub and Andrea Scalogna, CEO and Co-Founder of Mercato Itinerante. The panel was moderated by the very talented Sara Malaguti, CEO of Flowerista and author of the recently released book 'Ecosistemi a Impatto'.

🌱 Thrilled to have pitched at the TechHub.K67 pitch session in my hometown, Düsseldorf! It’s amazing to see the startup scene thriving here and the spotlight on innovative ideas shaping the future. Huge thanks to K67 Techhub for organizing such a fantastic event and bringing together founders, investors, and changemakers. At Empacto, we focus on helping sustainability teams tackle one of their biggest challenges: sharing tailored sustainability knowledge at scale. Why is this so critical? 🌍 Evolving regulations and different regulations globally make compliance a moving target, and generic solutions no longer cut it. 🤝 Corporate commitments like net-zero goals need deep alignment across the value chain. 💡 Consumer are becoming more aware and critical -> Companies need tailored strategies to highlight how their efforts connect to real-world impact. These pressures are growing—and so is the opportunity to drive meaningful change with the right tools. Here’s to pushing boundaries and building solutions that matter! 💚
