Team Defence Information: Energy Resilience Rising energy costs place increased financial pressure on an already constrained defence budget. When this is considered against a backdrop of centralised infrastructure susceptible to both long range strike or terrorist action and the need for dispersed logistics in the battlefield energy resilience is high on the defence agenda. Indeed a recent RUSI report suggested that defence should consider investing in ‘getting to the fight’ before buying any new fighting capability. The Operational Energy Authority (OEA) has been in operation for just over 12 months and is tasked with implementation of the Defence Operational Energy Strategy. This import area of Defence Capability will be an area where Team Defence Information Futures will be supporting the Authority with its industry and academic engagement We are currently working on two initial engagements Workshop on the OEA Insight Function 16 October 2024 OEA Conference Early 2025 We feel that Energy is an increasingly important topic that will benefit from a coherent approach to engagement and plan to establish a 'committee'. If this is a key area for your business and you would like to get involved then please get in touch. #SDSR25 #energyresilience Suzannah Curtis James Clare

Working with our partners at the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and Strategic Command – both part of the UK Ministry of Defence - we have started work on a number of modular building projects across our Built Estate contracts in southwest and central England – and we have ensured we have kept sustainability at the forefront of our work by using a host of sustainable and NET Zero features. In this instance, we have worked closely with our Supply Chain Partners, Reds10 , and local companies to deliver two buildings supplying temporary transient accommodation buildings for training purposes. The buildings, pictured, have been designed and delivered with air source heat pumps, solar panel photovoltaic systems and rainwater harvesting. All these adaptations will significantly contribute to the performance of the buildings’ in terms of Net Zero. Andrew Aubrey, who oversaw the project for VIVO Defence, said: “The impact of modular building projects, in terms of their building performance standards, and the ability to deliver such works at pace have such a positive impact for the users we support. "We are really pleased to be delivering these with a number of features to help the UK military and the MOD on its journey towards reducing carbon emissions. We are progressing a number of these schemes currently and look forward to the next ones.” #military #partners #projectmanagement #sustainability ‘#netzero #facilitiesmanagement

.........PART II ........... Then, we need to introduce skill development training system in all the schools in the afternoon session; empowering the youth to become financially independent. Furthermore, we need to illuminate the regions through digital intervention providing them 3G, 4G and now 5G access to benefit from the technogical revolution. In my opinion, military and FC by virtue of their organizational capacity are well positioned to get the plan implemented by providing an efficient monitoring and control support. In the entire effort, the key parameters are social justice, inclusive growth, mobilization of youth, collaborative governance, collective impact, public- private-civil society partnership, community participation, climate resilience, emergency response, adaptation & mitigation and environmental sustainability etc. MOST IMPORTANT: DEPLOYMENT OF OUTCOME BASED BUDGETING APPROACH, STAKEHOLDERS ANALYSIS MECHANISM, INVOLVEMENT OF DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS; CBOs, WITH MONITORING AND CONTROL BY SECURITY FORCES

We, the people of Ukraine, are deeply grateful for the financial and material support provided by the EU. This assistance has been crucial in addressing the most urgent needs of our energy system. However, rebuilding and repairing infrastructure takes significantly longer than the destruction caused by Russian missile attacks. Therefore, the most impactful way to support Ukraine's energy system this winter is through the provision of additional anti-missile defense systems, such as NASAMS and Patriot. Strengthening our defense capabilities will ensure that critical infrastructure remains intact, preventing further disruptions to our energy supply during this harsh winter. We also urge NATO and EU countries to protect Ukrainian energy infrastructure by anti-missile systems deployed at EU territory. If EU countries agree to protect neighboring Ukrainian territories with their own anti-missile systems stationed in the EU, Ukraine could relocate its existing air defense systems to other strategic locations. This would help bolster defenses in central and eastern Ukraine, where the need for increased protection is critical. The EU's ongoing support is invaluable, but enhancing our collective defense will better safeguard Ukraine's infrastructure and ensure a resilient energy supply for our citizens throughout the winter. https://lnkd.in/gGkf2DFY
