Monthly Networking Events into 2025! ✨ As we look toward next year, I’m excited to keep hosting our Fondy’s Finest monthly networking events, and I’d love your feedback on some ideas to add even more value for attendees and hosts alike: Our 2025 Plan: Bi-Monthly Workshops with Sylvia Damaris Every other month, join us for a workshop co-hosted with Sylvia Damaris - Business Coach & Brand Photographer to help local businesses grow. Each session will also feature one additional business, giving us an opportunity to learn directly from local experts. If any businesss would like to contribute food, we would be happy to add a partnership there. Networking at Local Businesses In the alternate months, we’ll be looking for local businesses to host. These gatherings will be tailored to each business’s unique offerings; for example, we might meet at a coffee shop, try one of their signature items, and discuss current business challenges and solutions. To thank our host, attendees will leave a review on their social media—adding value on both sides! Promotion and Support For each event, Fondy Famous will share 3-4 promotional posts, and participating businesses will help spread the word as well. Our goal is to create a mutually beneficial experience where we can all learn, grow, and network at no cost, as everyone brings something of value to the table. Much time and preparation goes into each of these, so we want to ensure we have the greatest value. We're excited to make these networking events even better in December and into 2025! Drop a comment or message me with any feedback or additional ideas—I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🙌 Pic from a previous event hosted by Fondy Axe Company with food by Flavor Frame BBQ LLC #FondyNetworking #SupportLocal #BusinessCommunity #FondDuLacWI #HolidayEvents #CommunityConnection #LocalBusinessSupport #FondysFinest

"Network or Not Work" Ever walked out of a networking event feeling super energized and brimming with fresh insights? Or have you found yourself in an event that seems as exciting as watching paint dry? Networking events can be a gold mine of new ideas and perspectives, but not all are created equal. 📌 Let's delve into how to identify worthwhile networking events and how to sidestep the dull ones: 1️⃣ Check out the Event Agenda: A well-planned event will have a clear-cut agenda that lends value to your time and efforts. 2️⃣ Know Your Speakers: If the event hinges on renowned industry experts, it's a cue that you're in for some quality insights. 3️⃣ Review the Guest List: You're not just there for the free food! Make sure the attendees align with your professional objectives. 4️⃣ DON'T SELL. Sounds counter intuitive but no one enjoys being stuck with the traveling salesman at the buffet. 5️⃣ Follow-up. That's the whole point after all. Expand your network by selecting the people you enjoyed speaking with the most and build your relationships from there. Invest it in networking events that elevate your energy levels, not drain them. #Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerGrowth #EventPlanning #BusinessDevelopment

Ready for something a little controversial? I saw a photo on Facebook of an in-person business event where more than half of the chairs were empty. It looked quite sad. I’ve been told by a business buddy that they’ve been signing up for in-person networking events but then on the day they just don’t fancy it any more and so don’t go. (This is very uncharacteristic of them by the way, I met them through networking and they used to attend many events each week) I have attended business events where many people RSVPed but then didn’t show up. It seems to be a trend that in-person seems appealing but there is something preventing people from showing up, Perhaps it’s a hangover from the pandemic, or something else. Regardless, all the hype about in-person events may be a little exaggerated. This isn’t the case for our virtual networking events. We have an average of 83.36% attendance rate from those buying tickets and two out of the six we’ve run so far have had 100% attendance. This means you’ve got a good chance of networking with some new business owners if you attend our virtual networking event! Want deets of the next one? Comment 'networking'

Don’t judge networking on one event. Events come in many different shapes and sizes. It’s about finding the right events that fit you. Yes, you’ll have to go to some that make you want to put pins in your eyes. Yes, it will take time to test out a few different groups. But taking the time to find the ones that suit you will benefit you long term. Because there’s a lot to consider. Be it the: - Event time of day - Event format - Types of attendees - Organisers - Event frequency - Stage your business is at (and what it needs) It’s amazing how I still come up against people that say they tried a networking event, didn’t like it, so don’t do it at all anymore. One event does not represent every networking event. It’s like any industry. There are some very good operators. And some absolute cowboys (no comment). And you’ll get something from one event that you don’t from others. Because of the many event variables at play. That’s why many companies are members of multiple groups and networks. It’s why we welcome businesses to try a Network My Club event before joining. To make sure the event is right for them, and that they are right for our events. It’s also why I include a groups of lessons specifically on this topic in The Networkers Playbook. To help networkers understand how to find their fit. Because once you do, it’s like walking into a room of mates, who want to help you, where most importantly, where you can be yourself. What considerations have I missed? Networking musings come to you today from Paddington as I wait to board a train to Cardiff 🎤 #BusinessNetworking

Only a minority of event attendees are in it for the parties. Another great stat from Freeman Company research... 51% want to see customized agenda plans or guides for how attendees can make the most of the event. Attendees are hungry for substance, not just socializing. By shifting the focus to learning, collaboration, and shared goals, you create environments where people WANT to connect- and where they feel valued when they do.
A party is not networking. It’s not an opinion. It’s facts. I was going through the FANTASTIC Freeman research to prepare for our 2025 Event Industry Outlook and Trends (next week!). I bumped into a powerful stat. 55% of planners think that parties are the networking attendees want. But only 34% of attendees want parties. This is a disconnect many experienced in the event industry post-pandemic. Many planners interpreted this strong desire to be back in-person as an unstoppable need to party. That may have been the case for ’21 and ’22. Since ’23, things have changed. Purpose and collaboration are what attendees need. Many also confuse the need to get together in small, intimate events with meaningless drinks and dinners. Throwing people in a room and expecting the magic to happen is a waste of money and energy. What’s the plan then? • Structured networking. Especially around topics of interest. • Intimate gatherings with true peers with a theme or items of discussion. • Content that connects. Workshops, collaborative seminars, facilitated sessions. There is no room for budget waste in this environment. How do you connect attendees? P.S. Every Wednesday, 11K eventprofs open my newsletter within one hour of me sending it. If you want to know why, join us. The link is at the top of my profile.

In July, simply by attending two in person events, not as a speaker, but as an attendee I generated over £3k in sales. 💰 Many people believe that you need to be a speaker or sponsor to sell at events. While these can certainly increase sales, attending events as a participant can be just as effective. I always aim to attend at least 3/4 in-person events each month not just to make new connections, but also catch up with people I already know. When I meet someone new, I don’t push for a hard sell. I just focus on being myself. People naturally ask what I do, and I have a product suite that caters to everyone, regardless of their social media expertise or budget. I show them that I’m the expert in what I do, I build trust, we connect via socials and they then see the social proof that gives them the confidence to work with me even after only meeting. Are you planning to attend any in-person events in the coming months? Don’t underestimate powerful they are. Speaking of events, are you free on Friday, November 15th? If so, grab your ticket to my "Elevate to Success" event. You'll hear from me and four incredible speakers who will share how you can grow your business. Plus, you'll have the chance to network with 100 other business owners. https://lnkd.in/dmbEzvcm

Business networking..... There may be three weeks remaining until my next monthly Business Development Networking event takes place in Birmingham at The Leonardo Royal Hotel, but there are only two places remaining. I always leave it to attendees to share their experience of attending events I organise by commenting on my posts, instead of me posting testimonials, which some people may think are ‘made up’. Helped by the facts that there are no membership fees involved, no single-seat policy, no ‘educational presentations’ or long speeches, no other commitments required, and the fact that is not always the same people in attendance, this informal ‘coffee morning’ styled format event has sold out in advance of its date every month for well over a year now. People that attend these events like the fact that they will be handed a list of people attending on arrival, be introduced to everyone in the room and have the opportunity to speak to them. With pastries and tea/coffee, it is a great way of making new connections and developing existing business relationships. Numbers are restricted to ensure this is a high-quality networking experience. For more details and to book your place, please see: https://bit.ly/2BW9Bma On a separate point, I added some future networking event dates to my company page on Eventbrite yesterday. Please see the above link. Bookings close the day before any event (subject to there being spaces available). #events #networking #business #connections #henrikdoesevents Photograph - Ready to welcome everyone with Thomas Langman to the hotel.
