5 rules to make Thanksgiving awesome. 1) Regardless of how you feel about the election don't take it out on your family. 2) Even when your family is annoying recognize they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. 3) Eat what you want. You don't have to finish what you try. 4)Find a Salvation Army near you, spend time serving the less fortunate, and get some perspective. 5) This is a great holiday it's about Thanks and Giving. You do not have to have anything to be grateful. Giving what you can will increase your Joy.

Giving thanks through generosity. Check out this quote: “You don’t become generous by accident. Like with finances, fitness, or your career, you need a real vision and strategy to succeed. To be clear, we do need boundaries and to be centered. If we do this well, we can all become a powerful, collective force for good. But without a plan, we won’t be centered. The plan of action is what keeps us healthy and focused.” I love the idea of planning generosity. Being intentional about it. We are all busy making lists of what we need to buy for Thanksgiving dinner and what we need to buy for Christmas gifs. What if we make a list of what we need to do to live a generous life? What if we plan for it? I have a strong feeling we (and I include me in this, for sure) will do better than how we are currently doing it. Being intentional about stewarding treasure? Your Memorial Day, Sunday Message... Forgive that I am called to preach a little now and then, not to speak truth to power, but to assert the power of truth. We mostly ignore our 'Military, Day of the Dead', not out of disrespect, but because war is no longer noteworthy, and in fact, as a nation we have seen very little peace since reluctantly being dragged into WWII. We have purposefully made ourselves a target for nations who have yet to work out their social contract, power and economic relationships, and who actually resent our insistence on doing things our way. Our reputation is infamous as one who destroys what it cannot control and exploit. So what began as the North's tribute to those who died to preserve the Federal government over State governments and make America a real 'nation', through the years has become an annual acknowledgement that we are still willing to sacrifice primarily young Americans, and now immigrant lives, to eat better, sleep better, and thumb our noses at the rest of the world we don't yet control. Sadly, no one asks, or is allowed to ask, could there be another way - even a better way?? What would be the profit in that? If there were in fact more profit in another path, you can bet we would be on it. Memorial Day is the official start of summer for most Americans. It's not much of a stretch to believe that Americans grow weary of war and the jingoism of so many hate and fear campaigns. The Military is now seen by many as one of the better 'work programs' available to the growing number of economically disadvantaged. But people are gradually realizing that death in the defense of someone's investments and corporate bank accounts is no virtue - it's only a funereal reminder of the failure of our leadership, and the bankruptcy of their vision for America's future. If you plan to pray on Monday, for our fallen dead, you might consider an additional prayer for leadership that considers dying for one's country, or any country, only the last, desperate resort for our own sovereignty, and not the default gambit for empire.

It's #followup Friday. For Christians across the world, it's also Good Friday. If you celebrate the miracle of Easter, be thankful. Most people are working today and it's the day to follow up on some unfinished business. Get back to your customers and prospects. Give them answers. Schedule the next step. Keep moving forward. #followup #businesscoach #salescoach

Dear Friends and Fellow Veterans, As we approach Memorial Day, there's something I feel compelled to share. This day is more than just the unofficial start of summer or a long weekend spent barbecuing and enjoying the outdoors. It's about remembering. Reflect back on the oath you took when you decided to serve. You pledged your life to a cause bigger than yourself. And, you weren't alone. Countless members of our community have experienced this profound connection, a sense of singular purpose that surpasses any other. When we transition out of service, it's as if we've suddenly lost that purpose. That guiding light that once illuminated our path seems to fade. It's a unique form of loss, one that can feel overwhelming and all-consuming. However, when the uniform comes off, the service doesn't have to end. We need to remember that our commitment to serve, to contribute to something more profound than our individual selves, doesn't simply disappear. This Memorial Day, whether you're grilling in your backyard or spending time with your family, I implore you to take a moment. Remember those who have fallen in service to our great nation. Remember your time in service, the trials and triumphs, the camaraderie and the hardships. But, more than that, remember your purpose. Remember that you were built to serve, to answer a call greater than yourself. This is our collective legacy. And it's a purpose we can continue to pursue, in various ways, long after our time in uniform ends. What does service beyond the uniform look like for you? Is it mentoring the next generation, launching a venture that helps others, or finding another way to make a positive impact? Regardless of your path, remember you're not alone. We are all navigating this journey together, linked by a shared history, a shared purpose, and a shared commitment to service. Let's honor those who have given everything on this Memorial Day - not just by remembering them, but by living out the purpose they died for. What does your purpose look like today? How are you continuing to serve? #MemorialDay #VeteranTransition #LifeAfterService #SharedPurpose

Honoring Memorial Day: Make the Most of the Freedom Others Fought For As we take a moment to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, let’s also reflect on how we can make the most of the life they fought to protect. Memorial Day is not just a time for remembrance; it’s a reminder to live fully and purposefully. 1. Reflect and Set Intentions: Take this day to reflect on your goals and set intentions for your future. Ask yourself: How can I honor the sacrifices made by living my best life? What steps can I take today to move closer to my dreams? 2. Practice Gratitude: Gratitude can transform your perspective and energize your actions. Consider: Writing a list of things you are grateful for. Thanking someone who has positively impacted your life. 3. Embrace Opportunities: Every day is a chance to grow and improve. Use this day to: Start a new project or hobby. Make a positive change in your routine or mindset. 4. Connect with Loved Ones: Freedom means being able to connect and spend time with those we care about. Make an effort to: Reach out to family and friends. Spend quality time with loved ones, creating memories. 5. Give Back: One of the best ways to honor those who have served is to give back to the community. You can: Volunteer your time to help others. Support organizations that assist veterans and their families. Let’s take advantage of this day to reflect, grow, and live fully. Our actions today can be the tribute to those who gave everything for our freedom. Let’s make each day count in their honor. Remember, the freedom we enjoy is a gift. Use it wisely, live boldly, and honor the memory of those who made it possible. #MemorialDay #HonorAndRemember #LiveWithPurpose #Gratitude #LifeCoach #PersonalGrowth
