What makes a city centre vibrant at night? It's not just about cultural events or business activities, but also efficient services, good design and lighting which make streets and squares safe and enjoyable for all. Today with the partners of the URBACT network Cities@Heart we are exploring how to revive the attractiveness of central areas of the cities while creating a sense of belonging among residents and stakeholders. The first webinar of the network led by Métropole du Grand Paris that I'm supporting as Ad Hoc Expert, will offer useful elements that cities such as Granada, Cesena, Sligo and the others can include in their Integrated Action Plan for reviving city centres after dark 24HourNation Randall White Mar Santamaria Varas Léonie Yang Ronan MAHEO Cities After Dark Nuno Almeida Nuno Gouveia Gianluca Saba

We’ve spent a lot of time in the last couple of months on our indexing and analysis systems so the amount of human effort needed to get sufficient market coverage was massively reduced compared to Bath. It’s a really interesting challenge trying to balance detail with accuracy and repeatability, pipelining the analysis to use cheaper models where possible, and even (gasp!) using good old hardcoded heuristics for places where we don’t need AI.
🎉 Today we launch our in our second Jitty citty, Bristol ⚓🍎🐻 Bristol is a beautiful place, full of beautiful homes. Try it out, tag any friends who live in Bristol, and as always let us know any feedback. We launched our second city roughly 4x quicker than our first, which we're proud of given that it's about 5x bigger. We’re ramping up the speed, so we're looking forward to announcing more cities soon. ✌️🏡 Photo credit to Martyna Bober on Unsplash 📸

The reality is, Downtown Raleigh needs better connections that prioritize people and make it easier for pedestrians to get between key destinations 👩🦽🚶♂️🚴♂️ If we want a safer and more accessible community, we must rethink our roads to create a sustainable city center that puts people first. Connecting major attractions to-and-through downtown with multi-modal infrastructure would build a system that better serves residents/visitors today, and tomorrow. How? 📌 Determine a clear vision for a catalytic and bold connection from Dix Park to downtown. 📌 Create a new northern gateway along Peace Street at the entrance to the State Government campus. 📌 Design signature connections between with key destinations and nearby amenities (i.e. the Convention Center to City Plaza). Learn more about the Economic Development Strategy and proposed improvements to downtown’s connections over the next 5 years 👇 https://bit.ly/3TxR1I5
