It’s the start of a new era with the Hawaiian Airlines integration into Alaska Air Group. My first joint project launched last week - leading guest communications for Hawaiian’s terminal move in San Francisco. SFO is the first of several airport co-locations that will be executed to bring the Hawaiian and Alaska brands together and facilitate easier connections for our guests ✈️ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gciaBbHi

How to manage a “credit” for not giving you something you paid for. “When you attempt to use a flight credit, Qantas transfers you into a special booking engine that displays airfares that are often significantly higher than the airfares offered on the exact same flights in the regular qantas.com booking engine.”

What does it take to connect continents in the early days of global aviation? British South American Airways (BSAA) set out to link the UK with South America and the Caribbean, achieving milestones like the first international departure from Heathrow in 1946. Advanced aircraft like the Avro Tudor represented the determination to expand air travel to far-reaching destinations. However, early aviation faced significant challenges. Accidents and mysterious plane disappearances revealed the risks of long-distance travel at the time. By 1949, BSAA’s difficulties led to its merger with BOAC, ending its brief, ambitious story. BSAA reminds us of the pioneering spirit and growing pains of aviation’s formative years. Though short-lived, it played a key role in shaping the global air travel networks we know today. 🌎 Discover more details: https://lnkd.in/d95XH_-v

Aer Lingus will begin flying from Dublin Airport to Indianapolis next May, presumably on the hashtag #A321XLR. This brand-new route will obviously be underpinned by financial incentives and perhaps a revenue guarantee agreement. It will be Indianapolis' only long-haul destination since Delta Air Lines ended hashtag #Paris CDG in 2020, which existed to feed transatlantic and fellow SkyTeam member Air France. The revelation comes shortly after it announced hashtag #Nashville service, which starts in April. The Irish capital will welcome the first-ever Las Vegas flight this week, while Delta will inugurate the first-ever hashtag #Detroit service in May. When Dublin's winter/summer US network across *all* carriers is considered, it will have non-stop flights to 22 airports. That's more than Amsterdam and Paris CDG (excluding limited charter flights to San Diego and Las Vegas).

I'm back from an awesome vacation with several new post ideas swirling around, - BUT FIRST - What airline do you prefer? I usually fly Southwest or United, but lately they've both left me wanting. Forbes compiled a list that proclaims Alaska, Skywest, and Spirit (?!?) as the top 3 "best" airlines. Delta ranks number 1 for reliability, and after getting home about 4 hours late last night thanks to multiple United delays (we even got standby on an earlier flight that ended up getting delayed longer than our original, already delayed by 2 hours flight!), reliability and being on time are certainly my top considerations to switch. So, what does everyone fly? And how is their frequent flyer program? #airlines #ontimeflights #airlinereliability
