"My visa EXPIRES in 9 months and I’m worried. How do I land a visa-sponsored job?" Here’s 5 easy steps I teach my students: 1️⃣ Find your sweet spot → Your sweet spot is usually a role in an industry you have worked in before → Check the comments below for video training on how to find your sweet spot 2️⃣ Message international student alumni from your university → Make sure the alumni are in jobs in your field → I recommend messaging 20 alumni DAILY (or at least 100 per week). Ask them how they landed these jobs 3️⃣ Make 1 high-quality job application per day → From helping 100s of international students, I’ve seen my best students such as Aarti, Ishita and Zackary make only 1 job application per day → Check the comments below for a checklist for a high-quality application 4️⃣ Follow up for EACH job application → The key here is to follow up via email (not LinkedIn message) once every 5 days → Check the comments below for follow-up email templates which you can copy and paste 5️⃣ Follow an interview prep strategy → My best students would always prepare answers to these questions: 1) Tell me about yourself; 2) Why this role? and 3) Why this company? → Check the comments below for an interview prep document (with sample answers) Once you consistently follow EACH of the 5 steps above (at least 6 days per week) for 6 months, you will 100% land a visa-sponsored job! 🌍 Navigating Job Applications as an International Student with a PSW Visa International students face unique challenges when applying for jobs, especially without a sponsorship visa. Despite having a PSW visa, which allows them to work part-time, many talented, dedicated, and hardworking individuals struggle to secure employment. Here are some strategies to overcome these hurdles: ✅ Highlight Your PSW Visa: Clearly mention your PSW visa status in your applications to avoid confusion about your work eligibility. ✅ Network Actively: Connect with professionals in your field, attend industry events, and join relevant groups on LinkedIn to expand your network. ✅ Tailor Your Applications: Customize your resume and cover letter for each job application, emphasizing your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the company. ✅ Seek Internships and Volunteer Opportunities: Gain local experience and build your professional network through internships and volunteer work. ✅ Leverage University Resources: Utilize your university's career services for job search assistance, resume reviews, and interview preparation. ✅ Consider Remote Work: Explore remote job opportunities that may be more flexible with visa requirements. Remember, persistence is key. Keep honing your skills, expanding your network, and applying for opportunities. Your dedication and hard work will pay off! #InternationalStudents #JobSearch #PSWVisa #CareerAdvice #Networking #JobHunting #WorkVisa

Finding a job as an international student is tough, challenging, and whatnot. Have you wondered why? These are a few common mistakes you might be making: 1. Looking for job opportunities after your course or graduation. Yes, you read it right! It is best to start looking for jobs while you are doing your course. 2. Lack of experience? If you are applying for jobs other than graduate roles, lack of experience would be a challenge. Many employers prefer experienced candidates, a few even look for local experience, which is difficult for international students. But, your skills play a huge role. So, don’t lose hope. 3. Applying for various jobs, or just applying on “Easy Apply”. Not reading the job descriptions/requirements properly. In many cases, the skills and qualifications you acquired from your home country may not align with the demands of the job market here, and this could create a mismatch affecting your job prospects. 4. Not having a complete LinkedIn profile. 5. Using the same resume for all job applications. 6. Applying only to graduate roles. There are various opportunities available without visa sponsorship which you can apply to to gain experience in the country. 7. Simply waiting for a recruiter to reach out to you without any proactive effort on your part. No, it doesn’t work that way! You can add more to this! #internationalstudentlife #UKmasters #jobsearch

Job hunting as an international student in the UK is SO DIFFICULT. When we apply for jobs whilst at university… .. UK employers can’t hire us as we’re still on a student visa… And then we finally graduate, and apply for jobs whilst on the graduate visa.. .. UK employers can’t hire us because our graduate visa expires and we “need visa sponsorship in the future”. This means we don't even land an interview for 99% of the jobs we apply for… And it’s frustrating as we’ve spent £50-100k in ONE year in this country.. We don’t ask for much.. all we want is for UK employers to NOT let our visa status define our talent. We want UK employers to see us beyond our visa status, and instead, see our work ethic. Since we have a 2-year time crunch due to the graduate visa, I promise we will: → Value ANY opportunity we get → Work hard 7 days a week to prove our worth All we want is ONE chance. Our visas may expire. But I promise you, our talent won't. If you're an international student reading this, please comment "CHANCE" so 1000s of UK employers see this and give us ONE chance 🎯 ——————----------------——————————————— PS. This morning I announced 5 scholarships for the “Visa Sponsored UK Job Accelerator”, where I’ll OPTIMISE your CV and LinkedIn, so you can land visa-sponsored UK jobs at top companies like Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Deloitte and Jane Street. If you’d like to apply, DM me “Accelerator” and I’ll send you the next steps (we have only opened up 5 spots which will go by the end of the week) 🚀

“The Job Search Journey as an International Student – Embracing Resilience” 🌍💪 I wanted to share my experience navigating the job market as an international student. It’s been a challenging journey filled with ups and downs. Finding a job comes with a unique set of hurdles. Visa restrictions ✈️, limited opportunities, and countless applications 📄 make it feel like I’m fighting an uphill battle. Despite my qualifications and experience, my profile often goes unnoticed—few views, no outreach from recruiters, and an overwhelming number of rejection emails 📩. There are days when it feels like all the hard work and sacrifices I’ve made—moving to a new country, adapting to a different culture, and investing in my education—aren’t enough. The pressure of visa deadlines ⏳ adds to the stress, making it tough to stay hopeful. But here’s the truth: I refuse to give up! 💪 Each rejection is not a reflection of my worth but a stepping stone toward success. I’m committed to learning, adapting, and improving at every turn. With every application, I’m honing my skills and resilience, reminding myself that persistence is key 🔑 in this competitive landscape. To all the recruiters out there, I want to emphasize that international students bring diverse perspectives, unique skills, and an unwavering determination to succeed. We are ready to contribute and make a positive impact on your teams. 🌟 To my fellow job seekers, let’s keep supporting one another! 🤝 I’d love to hear your stories and how you stay motivated through these challenges. 🌟 Job Search Tip for International Students 🌟 Hello LinkedIn community! I wanted to share a valuable tip that greatly improved my job search experience as an international student after completing my master's. Like many of you, I used to apply to hundreds of jobs daily but was often met with instant rejections. A primary reason for these rejections was the lack of visa sponsorship for international students. I realized that applying to 100 companies was inefficient, especially when only 5-10 of them actually sponsored visas. Then, I had an idea that changed everything. I approached my university's careers department and requested a list of companies where previous year's students from my branch worked on F1 OPT/CPT. These companies typically offer visa sponsorship since they have accepted F1 OPT/CPT students in the past. Armed with this list, I focused my applications on these companies. The results were immediate and incredible! I started receiving multiple interview calls, and my application process became much more efficient and targeted. This is how I landed an internship and later converted it into Full-time. So, to all the international graduates out there looking for a job, I highly recommend requesting your university for a list of companies that have hired students on F1 OPT/CPT. Share this list with friends from different universities to expand your network and increase your chances of success. Best of luck to everyone in their job search! 🌍✈️ #JobSearch #InternationalStudents #VisaSponsorship #MastersDegree #CareerTips #F1Visa #H1BVisa #OPTCPT #Networking #UniversitySupport

What you might see on my LinkedIn: Experienced Career Advisor with a focus on helping international students secure positions at top U.S. companies 7+ years in IT and healthcare recruitment, with a deep understanding of OPT, H1-B, and visa sponsorships Guest Speaker at multiple career development workshops But here’s what you won’t see: The countless hours I spent learning the intricacies of visa policies and navigating the challenges that international students face in the U.S. job market. The many times I saw talented candidates miss out on opportunities simply due to lack of support or misunderstanding of immigration requirements. And the heartbreak of seeing students lose confidence in their potential because of one too many rejections. These experiences have not only shaped my career but also fueled my passion for empowering international students. Each challenge has taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of providing personalized support to those navigating unfamiliar terrain. Am I sharing this to boast? Maybe a little! But also because I know there are international students out there right now feeling discouraged by the job search process. Every obstacle, every “no” — it’s not there to stop you but to equip you for the journey ahead. If you’re facing setbacks today, keep going. Those experiences will one day be the foundation of your success.

The current job market is tough for everyone, but it’s hitting international students especially hard. Many of us are facing a ticking clock, trying to find opportunities before our visa time runs out. It’s not about lacking talent or drive—we have the skills, a fresh perspective, and three years of OPT work authorization to offer. But in a competitive job market, it feels like we’re often overlooked because of visa concerns. International students are ready to contribute, eager to prove themselves, and bring a global mindset to the table. I hope more companies will see the untapped potential in hiring international talent. Sometimes, all we need is a chance. #JobMarket #InternationalTalent #OpportunityForAll #HiringOPT #JobSearch

Ever feel like you're swimming against the tide in your job search? You're not alone. But here's a secret: your mindset can be your most powerful tool. Let's face it – job hunting is tough, especially as an international student. You might hear stories of visa challenges, employer hesitation, or fierce competition. But guess what? For every obstacle, there's someone out there overcoming it. Consider this: • While some struggle to explain their visa status, others are landing roles in SMEs, multinationals, and even the public sector using the Graduate Route visa or direct visa sponsorship. • As some face rejection, others are finding success in diverse fields – from business and engineering to computing. • When some feel limited, others are embracing the flexibility to explore different roles and gain valuable experience. The difference? Often, it's mindset and the company you keep. Here's how to shift your perspective: ➡ Surround yourself with positivity: Connect with fellow international students who are succeeding in their job search. Their energy is contagious! ➡ Focus on opportunities, not obstacles: The UK job market is vast. From part-time gigs as student ambassadors to graduate-level positions, there's a fit for you. ➡ Leverage your unique strengths: Your international background is an asset. Highlight your global perspective and adaptability. ➡ Stay informed: Knowledge is power. Understand your visa options and rights. The more you know, the more confident you'll be in interviews. Remember, for every person complaining about the job market, there's another tackling challenges head-on and landing their dream role. Which group do you want to be in? #InternationalStudents #UKJobs #PositiveMindset #CareerSuccess
