Rent-A-Chef Kitchen Staffing LLC (Agency) How Visa Sponsorship Works: 1. Job Offer: A company offers a job to a foreign worker. The job needs to be one where there is a shortage of local workers. 2. Sponsorship Process: The employer petitions the government (such as USCIS in the U.S.) to sponsor the worker's visa, often proving that the worker has specialized skills and experience. 3. Government Approval: The government reviews the petition and may approve it, granting the worker permission to apply for a work visa. 4. Worker’s Application: The foreign worker applies for the visa, providing documents like the job offer letter, qualifications, and proof of sponsorship. 5. Relocation: Once approved, the worker can move to the country and start working.

❗ 📣 Advice for WHV (long post warning..) It's that time of the year, the sun is shining, the beaches are full and with the rules for the 417 having changed this year we are seeing more working holiday visa holders in Sydney than ever. Due to the portfolio that I manage (temp & contract marketing roles) I am in contact with these job seekers more than most in my team and I have similar conversations day in day out. Until the government re-think the 6 month limitation (which I would welcome with open arms) I thought it was worth sharing some key points & tips; 🌞 Yes there are ways around working for one employer more than 6 months, however you need to prove yourself first. For this reason stick to applying for contract jobs that can you carry out with your current visa (12 month contracts & perm roles are a no go) Your work rights refresh with every visa & bridging visa you get, so if a contract is 9 months and you have 6 months left on your current visa and can work another 3 on your next visa please make that clear in your application! 🌞 If you are looking for sponsorship you are best to apply to companies directly - a recruitment agency will not be able to submit you for a permanent role (no matter the fit) because clients are unlikely to pay us a recruitment fee and then a sponsorship (ps - this is from a marketing perspective I'm assuming it might differ for technical roles) 🌞 If you are junior/entry level marketer keep your options open. The market is competitive so you might be better to consider either getting more experience before you head over OR be open minded to hospitality/admin/customer services roles - that's what a working holiday visa is designed for working casually and getting to enjoy the country! 🌞 Some shorter term temp or contract roles aren't advertised so make sure you are on the books of temp recruiter but be clear when emailing or reaching out.. It's much more helpful if you explain the types of roles you are looking for, locations you are willing to travel and when your visa expires upfront 🌞 Be flexible on expectations, unfortunately with the way the market in Sydney currently is there are less senior contracts so you might have to take a slight sideways (or even backwards step) on title or salary. If continuing to work in marketing is super important to you whilst over here then be willing to consider coordinator/executive/hands on positions - currently where we are seeing the most need 🌞 You will likely bring more knowledge on martech, AI etc from overseas so be willing to discuss that in interviews/screening calls 🌞 Build up your network, good references are great and can help when you are up against a lot of other applicants! Some of my best temps are on working holiday visas, and I started on one myself (will never forget the painstaking farm days!!) so I am more than happy to work with you IF we can help. I will always try to post on here contracts that are WHV friendly. I hope that helps!

A guide to converting Visitor Visa to Work Permit in Canada Why do people prefer converting a Visitor Visa to a Work Permit in Canada? Converting a visitor visa to a work permit in Canada is increasingly popular due to several compelling reasons. First, the temporary public policy in effect until February 28, 2025, allows visitors to apply for work permits from within Canada, simplifying the process and eliminating the need to leave the country. This ease of transition is a significant advantage. Canada's robust economy and diverse job market attract many visitors who see potential for career growth and financial stability. Moreover, a work permit can be a critical step toward permanent residency, especially through programs like the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) within the Express Entry system, which values Canadian work experience. Canada's high quality of life, including excellent healthcare, education, and social services, motivates many to extend their stay. Legally working in Canada ensures access to job opportunities, fair wages, and worker protections, enhancing one's ability to integrate into society. Living and working in Canada facilitates building professional and personal networks, contributing to faster and more effective integration into the workforce. With supportive immigration policies, such as the current public policy, Canada makes it easier for individuals to transition from visitors to valuable contributors to its economy and multicultural Converting a visitor visa to a work permit in Canada is an intricate process but achievable with the right knowledge and planning. Normally, visitors in Canada are not permitted to apply for work permits from within the country. However, due to a temporary public policy in effect until February 28, 2025, visitors can. Step-by-Step Guide 1. Get a job offer The first step is finding a Canadian employer willing to hire you. This can be done through various channels such as recruitment agencies, online job boards, and professional networking. Ensure the job offer is detailed, outlining the terms and conditions of employment. 2. Employer obtains LMIA For most positions, the employer must apply for an LMIA from ESDC. This involves proving that no Canadian candidates are available to fill the position, which requires substantial advertising and justification. The LMIA process includes a non-refundable processing fee of CAD 1,000 per position. 3. Submit Work Permit application Once the LMIA is obtained, or if the job is LMIA-exempt, you can apply for a work permit. Eligible visitors must apply online through the secure IRCC account. The following documents are typically required: ● Passport: Valid passport with at least one blank page. ● Proof of Current Status: Documentation confirming your visitor status in Canada. ● Job Offer Letter: Detailed job offer specifying the position and employment terms. ● Positive LMIA: If required, the LMIA documentation must be included.
