I flew an F35, twice, above a lake in Vegas. OK! Not a real one, in a simulator. On my first time, I completed my mission “to score as many points possible”, and I didn’t crash my plane. I did pretty well! Before I tried again, Kobi Regev chimed in and coached me. He reminded me of the basics of performance which I can apply to flying a plane and my day to day work 💡. ✋To pause so we can think clearly when pressure is on. 📝Analyze my performance by recalling facts (not thoughts) 🎯Set clear goals 🛫Define a plan and have a method to achieve it. On my second mission, I had a 160% improvement in my score. 💥Boom I am grateful to my friend Yael Weinstock-Shemesh for the invite to celebrate her company’s launch at The Squadron. Day 3 - IN THE BOOKS! I am rounding out my first week in my Epic role at Health First , and today was our first whole-team meeting. We used the time to engage in several ice breakers which served to build engagement, trust amongst our team, and revealed some vulnerability as we became better aquainted with each other. We work in small groups of 4 in a horseshoe-shaped configuration that my colleague, Jonathan Benzel, RHIT , deemed a “Pod Squad ™️,” (and that quickly caught on after I “stole” it). Getting to know our Pod Squadron (Carolyn Caglione , Jusui Lumpkin, CPC , Pamela Maloney ~ rockstars!) in between focused self-education and using training resources has been a very positive experience unlike any I have had before. (This is genuinely an exploration in firsts I am noticing when I reflect on my experiences thus far 😊). We know we have each other’s backs as we progress towards our projects, cheering each other on, & pushing ourselves through the hard parts. We are organically developing into a team in every sense of the word, and continually I am proud to engage with these people on a daily basis. 📸: me on day 2 because day 3 included only 4 hours of sleep because the power went out, a hour+ commute because of an accident on the highway, a blood sugar drop mid morning, and an exhausting evening with my side #rover gig, 😅 #epic #teambuilding #vulnerability #podsquadTM

What is Airmanship? Airmanship is more than just flying, it's about making informed decisions, managing risks and maintaining situational awareness throughout the flight. The principles of airmanship are demonstrated when applying the knowledge of aviation to the act of flying. There are many ways to increase one's airmanship. Flying different aeroplanes, learning new techniques and humbling yourself is a great way to improve airmanship. Constantly refreshing yourself with knowledge is also essential to maintain and increase airmanship. Keeping yourself up to date on current and upcoming regulations or even your own aircraft's system is a must for all good pilots. Not everyone gets the same Training and sharing information has proven to be beneficial as flying with different people allows you to learn new techniques all the time.
