In today’s streaming landscape, cloud infrastructure is becoming more essential. However, the more vendors providers work with, the more fragmented cloud environments are getting. This is driving up costs for both budgets and the environment. Check out our latest blog that dives into what cloud fragmentation really means for streaming services and how we’re helping put companies back in control. https://lnkd.in/eWqtxWi5 #streaming #strategy #sustainability #OTT #cloud

Cutting Cloud Streaming OPEX starts at 1:00 PM PT/4:00 PM ET: https://lnkd.in/dvPZmCw7 Join Jason Thibeault, Abdul Rehman, Eric Bolten, and John Barber as we deep dive. Amazon Web Services (AWS) Zixi IMAX Streaming and Consumer Technology #streamingvideo #cloudvideo The case for migrating streaming architecture and workflows to the cloud is usually made in terms of scalability, flexibility, and substantial cost-savings over the largely fixed-cost nature of on-prem streaming operations. But cloud-based streamers can incur substantial operation costs as well with egress fees and negligent tendencies to keep systems running at the wrong times. With the lion’s share of the industry already embracing cloud-based streaming, the conversation shifts to managing and streamlining cloud OpEx and implementing strategies and technologies for making those operations as cost-efficient as possible. This expert panel explains how.

Everyone talks about streaming, but few actually implement it. Why is that so? My friend Kir Titievsky 🇺🇦 , a Google Cloud product manager, has been building Google Cloud's streaming products since 2016. Starting with Cloud #Pub/Sub and #Dataflow, and now moving to an #Apache #Kafka service, he has a point or two about streaming. Oh, and he’s worked on #CloudStorage, which is both “batch” and “streaming” depending on how you look at the world. 😂 We plan to have a session at the C2C virtual event on the 7th of November. Just to give you a sense of Kir's knowledge on the subject, he will explain why streaming is actually cheaper than batch processing. Plus, we will talk about all products that enable users to build streaming in Google Cloud. There are many options, and I bet you don't know about some of them yet. Please join us via the link in the comments 👇 For those who haven't attended my data sessions with C2C, it's worth checking in online as we always keep it interactive and fun.

What if you need to build an app with video content or even with video streaming functionality? Building from scratch is quite costly. You will need to deploy quite heavy open-source solutions to your cloud. Instead, you can use alternatives like MUX, building streaming using AWS services, or Vimeo.
