💥 Enough is Enough! 💥 The FTC is finally taking action against Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) who have profited off of the suffering of millions of patients. These PBMs have played games with insulin rebates, driving up the cost of this life-saving drug while patients struggle to afford it. It’s time for accountability. This lawsuit could finally bring justice for those who have been exploited by this broken system. PBMs should not be allowed to cause more suffering for patients. #HoldPBMsAccountable #HealthcareGreed #InsulinCostCrisis #PatientExploitation #PharmacyBenefitManagers #DrugPricingReform #JusticeForPatients https://lnkd.in/ew2Z5dbZ

When I've asked non-pharmacist audiences if anyone is familiar with PBMs or pharmacy benefits managers, no one raises their hands. It's stunning to me, as PBM reform is such an important issue. Patients are impacted when they cannot access their medications easily...or at all in some cases. Case in point, many are forced away from their local community pharmacy when they are required to get their prescription refills via mail order. I am looking for unbiased information to share with people who are not familiar with PBMs. Please DM or comment here. #PBMreform

Medication nonadherence, where patients fail to take medication as prescribed, is a significant issue affecting health outcomes and increasing healthcare costs. Frier Levitt partner Matthew Kupferberg elaborates on the scope of this problem in more detail, discussing contributing factors to poor medication adherence and their impact. He also delves into the Inflation Reduction Act, Prescription Drug Affordability Boards, and the HIPAA Privacy Rule in relation to medication adherence. We are over it! PBMs shouldn't dictate generic medication costs and they won't dictate ours. Why? 3moFinally, the Biden/Harris's Federal Trade Commission is taking down the real villains—Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). these would include organizations such as CVS Caremark , Express Scripts by Evernorth, OptumRx Holdings LLC, and Humana Pharmacy Solutions, Inc. These middlemen have been quietly gouging patients for years, jacking up prices on life-saving meds like insulin while raking in billions. And guess what? Biden and Harris are actually doing something about it, while Trump barely knew what PBMs were between his rounds of golf. PBMs have had free rein for way too long, but now the FTC is stepping in to hold them accountable. About time, right? This is a huge step toward justice for all the people who’ve been squeezed dry by these healthcare leeches. #AffordableHealthcareNow
