Why Senior Living Communities are a Wonderful Place to Celebrate Thanksgiving 🦃 🤩 💕 Thanksgiving is more than a holiday—it’s a celebration of connection, gratitude, and togetherness. For many seniors, it’s a chance to enjoy a festive meal, share stories, and be surrounded by a warm, welcoming community. It’s also a great time for others to get involved! Whether you’re looking to volunteer your time, bring joy with live music or activities, or even explore a career in senior living, this season is a meaningful time to make a difference. From helping serve a holiday meal to simply sharing a smile, there are countless ways to brighten someone’s day. And for those considering a career in senior living, Thanksgiving shows just how rewarding it can be to work in a place where every moment matters. *Hyping the kids up for Thanksgiving with THEIR family, so that the kids time spent with YOUR family is an afterthought. *Setting stipulations for the kid's time spent with you - eg. "The kids have to call me as soon as they're done with your Thanksgiving dinner." or "The kids only want to go holiday shopping with me, so don't plan on taking them with you." *Planning over-the-top holiday vacations. *Telling the kids that they're going to 'miss out' on exciting things while they're spending time with you. Across the board, one thing most High Conflict Co Parents have in common is they escalate during the holidays, birthdays or celebrations. Why? Because they view these events as a competition. Who's the better parent? Who do the kids love more? Who's more fun? Who are their kid's friends going to like more? Who are the kids going to remember more? etc....

Thanksgiving isn't just about turkey and stuffing. 🦃 It's a time for us to pause and really think about what matters most. In the hustle of real estate, especially when working with seniors or handling estate sales, it's important to remember the real reasons we celebrate. Here's what Thanksgiving means to me in our field: 1️⃣ Gratitude: Take a moment to thank the people who trust us in their life transitions. Their stories and journeys belong right at the heart of what we do. 2️⃣ Family: Whether it's ensuring a smooth estate sale or finding that perfect nest for a new family, it’s always about bringing people together. 3️⃣ Community: We're privileged to be part of the community here in Toronto, where every house and commercial space has its unique charm and story. ❤️ 4️⃣ Reflection: Every deal, every happy client reminds us of our journey and why we chose this path. It fuels us to continue helping others. As we gather around the table, let’s reflect on these values that go beyond just real estate. Building trust and fostering connections is a reason to give thanks every day. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? 🔍🍂 Let's celebrate more than just the meal!

Taking time off is essential—not only to recharge and stay effective in the workplace 💼 but also as a reminder to appreciate the people who support us on our professional journeys. I'm deeply grateful to have had the last few days to reflect, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy the holiday season 🍂. It's easy to get caught up in the professional demands of the present and past, but moments like these, coupled with a little mandatory time off (thank you, Matthew Wade & Aionios LLC!), provide an opportunity to pause and recognize what truly matters: the people, the connections 🤝, and the balance we strive for every day ⚖️. Our work is important. It fuels us financially, personally, and sometimes even creatively. But balance is key. With the right approach, we can nurture both our personal and professional lives—and yes, we really can have our cake and eat it too. Here's to gratitude, balance, and making time for what matters most 🌟. #Family #WorkLifeBalance #Hiring #Grateful #Opportunities

With Thanksgiving behind us, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how truly thankful I am—both personally and on behalf of the team here at CMC. We are deeply grateful for our incredible clients and the dedicated staff who serve them day in and day out. As we move into what is traditionally a slower season in our industry, it’s important to recognize that the holidays can be a stressful time for many residents. I’d like to challenge everyone to approach interactions with extra patience and understanding. You never know what someone might be going through. By taking the time to listen, understand, and genuinely help others achieve their goals, we can make a meaningful difference in their experience. Here are a few tips for providing exceptional customer service during the holiday season: 1. Be Empathetic: Listen with care and try to understand the resident’s perspective. 2. Communicate Clearly: Keep your tone warm and professional, especially in written communications. 3. Stay Proactive: Anticipate common concerns and address them before they become problems. 4. Be Flexible: A little accommodation can go a long way during stressful times. 5. Spread Positivity: Sometimes a kind word or gesture can make someone’s day. Let’s strive to be a source of calm and solutions for our communities during this holiday season. Wishing everyone patience, understanding, and a joyful end to the year! #Gratitude #CustomerService #CondoManagement #CommunityCare #HolidaySeason

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s… they’re supposed to be times of gratitude, togetherness and reflection. So when did they become more about getting stuff, fighting over which parent’s house to spend the day with, or stressing over the enormous to-do lists that include setting up and taking down mountains of decorations? What IF this year we could try something a little different? What IF we unscheduled our holiday? 🎄✨Read our latest blog by clicking the link below to learn how!✨🎄 https://lnkd.in/eqpY4ztF

Tomorrow is my favorite holiday. We celebrate many holidays and events in our house, some with much greater pomp, circumstance, and fanfare than Thanksgiving. But for me, Thanksgiving remains my favorite. It is the least commercialized, despite the day after becoming the biggest retail event of the year. It is one of the few where businesses actually close or allow employees time off to celebrate. All can celebrate it – no need to be born to a certain clan, no need to identify with any special group, no requirement to believe a specific doctrine. It is based on a simple concept and celebrations are also simple. Thanksgiving is a day to reflect on the current, past, and future things we have experienced that we can be thankful for. And everyone has SOMETHING that they can find in their life to cherish and be grateful for. Our celebrations consist of gathering together… family, friends or just another warm breathing human… many times traveling great distances to do what? Sit down and break bread together, enjoy a meal, enjoy the fellowship of others. Human Beings were created and wired for relationships. The accelerating fast pace of life, brought about by innovation, inventions and increasing dependence on technology, tends to pull us away or dilute our relationships. I am thankful that we still have at least one holiday dedicated and devoted to what we created and wired for in our core. I’m in the 4th Quarter of my life game. I’m not sure if the quarter just started or if I am close to the 2-minute warning. But I am sure that as the clock ticks, the relationships I have developed in the preceding 3 quarters are more important than all the plays, cheers from the stands, flags thrown to let me know when I’m off track, and accolades for scores. The things gained from the relationships and the people who have been part are what I am most thankful for. If you are reading this, then you have played a part. Some parts were small, some huge, but all treasured. Know that I am thankful for you. Enjoy your day tomorrow.
