Giving Tuesday: https://lnkd.in/gAJMxsrH Labrador Friends of the South, Inc., (LFS) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of homeless Labrador Retrievers in the Southeast region of the United States. LFS relies solely on donations, fundraising events, and adoption fees to continue saving and placing homeless Labradors. LFS is an all-volunteer organization that gives its time and effort out of a love for Labs. Our goal is to protect and save Labs from the perils of pet overpopulation and irresponsible pet ownership. Our ultimate goal is to help these dogs find new, loving, forever homes. The Labradors in our program receive veterinary care and temperament testing before being eligible for adoption. Since our goal is to place our Labradors in forever homes, we consider each Labrador’s history (if known), temperament, training, other skills, and energy level. We then assess each adopting family’s preferences, home environment, lifestyle, and personality to make the best possible match for successful adoption. Labrador Retrievers and Labrador Retriever mixes are the most popular family pets in the country. Unfortunately, this statistic means they are the most likely breed to end up in animal shelters as strays or unwanted pets. Perfectly healthy, sweet-tempered Labs are put to sleep every day, sometimes without the benefit of a painless euthanasia drug, simply because there are not enough good homes for them. We believe there is a misconception these Labs and Lab mixes have behavioral problems or extensive health issues that caused their owners’ rejection. The truth is most of these dogs suddenly find themselves abandoned by their owners and the only family and home they have ever known. This often happens because their owners lacked compassion or education about being good, responsible pet owners. Sometimes these homeless pets are victims of unfortunate circumstances or tragic events that caused them to become separated from loving families. Please open your heart and your home to a Lab that needs your help. They will show you their appreciation with lots of tail wags, body wiggles, and kisses. No matter the circumstances of their pasts, these homeless Labs are likely to bond thoroughly and deeply with their new families and make wonderfully affectionate and loyal companions for the rest of their lives.

Navajo reservation Navajo Reservation’s Canyon de Chelly National Monument Strays available for adoption! 🐾 A Heartbreaking Reality: Stray Dogs on the Navajo Reservation 🐾 This image tugs at my heartstrings and serves as a stark reminder of the harsh realities faced by homeless stray dogs on the Navajo Reservation. These innocent souls, left to fend for themselves, endure unimaginable hardships every single day. Seeing the sorrow in their eyes and the desperation as they cling to a piece of bread is a poignant reminder of the struggles they face. They seek warmth, love, and a safe place to call home, but instead, they find themselves battling the elements and starvation. We often take for granted the love and comfort our pets bring into our lives, but for these strays, every day is a fight for survival. Their resilience and will to live, despite the odds, is truly heartbreaking. Let’s not turn a blind eye to their suffering. Together, we can make a difference. Whether through adoption, fostering, or supporting local animal shelters and rescue organizations, every small act of kindness can help change their lives. Let’s raise awareness and spread compassion for these voiceless souls. They deserve so much more than the cards they’ve been dealt. #AnimalWelfare #StrayDogs #NavajoReservation #Compassion #AdoptDontShop #AnimalRescue #RaiseAwareness

I had a life realization at the vet this weekend. While I was in the waiting room, three people arrived with rescued street cats. The clinic offers special rates to spay street cats, check them up, and ensure they are well. Afterward, they will be fostered and hopefully soon adopted. I rescued two cats because I love animals. Seeing those individuals helping out and dedicating their time to save cats made me reflect on my contribution to the world. Honestly, I have not been doing much lately. I could make excuses like a lack of time and not finding the right cause, but these are just excuses. So, until I find a greater cause, I want to start here on LinkedIn. 💥I am offering one spot for free in my 1:1 program (12 weeks) to anyone who joins the waitlist for the 3 Life Habits online program. NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK VOLUNTEER SHOUTOUT: There are so many wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time to our lifesaving mission, and today we wanted to take a moment to thank longtime Lucky Dog Foster Katie Noble. In her own words, “I was first introduced to Lucky Dog in the summer of 2012 when I began searching for my first dog. I ended up adopting Kaylee, a pit mix, that September. After she settled in, I fostered a few Lucky Dogs on occasion, but really got into the foster mom life in 2017. Since then, I have fostered 250+ puppies, dogs, and kittens, and adopted another Lucky Dog in 2023. My volunteer work with Lucky Dog has become a significant part of my identity. The job is more than just cuddles and kisses: it's the satisfaction of seeing each animal find their humans. It's knowing that, by taking in a litter of puppies, I'm making room for another litter to take their place in the shelter. It's getting to know all these animals as individuals. Everyone wants to find a "purpose" in life, something that defines them - rescue is mine, and some of my greatest personal achievements have been made possible due to Lucky Dog. To anyone considering volunteer work with Lucky Dog, I say this: even the smallest contribution is invaluable to these animals. They always need a driver to get them to adoption events or vet appointments. They always need a human to hold their leash while they meet potential families. Documents need to be printed and travel crates need to be cleaned. Donations don't have to be extravagant - the #1 item I use on a daily basis is paper towels! The process of pulling an animal from the shelter and finding them the perfect home requires so many people doing so many different types of jobs, and all of them are absolutely necessary. Whatever your "best" is: it's more than enough to make a difference.” #IAmLuckyDog #WhyIVolunteer #NationalVolunteerWeek #Gratitude #TuesdayThoughts

Each year I foster a dog at my local animal rescue. It’s a small commitment that brings immense rewards, not just for the animal, but for me—and the wider community. Fostering is more than just providing a temporary home for a dog in need. It plays a key role in the work that rescues do to save lives. By opening your home to a dog, you’re directly supporting the mission of the rescue by creating space for other animals in need and helping them develop social skills and become more adoptable. But beyond the tangible benefits to the rescues and animals, fostering also has a profound impact on us as humans. It challenges us to be more compassionate, patient, and empathetic. It reminds us that we can make a difference in the lives of others, even in small ways. And it deepens our connection to the community, showing us how we’re all interconnected. I’ve seen firsthand how fostering helps transform not just the dogs, but the people who care for them. Every year, I walk away with new lessons in kindness, resilience, and the joy of giving without expecting anything in return. If you’ve ever thought about fostering, I encourage you to give it a try! Whether it’s a few weeks or a few months, you’re not just changing the life of an animal—you’re enriching your own life, too. #FosterDog #AnimalRescue #Volunteering #GiveBack #CompassionInAction

Many of you are not aware that I actually run an animal rescue (pending 501c3 status) for rabbits called Two Rabbit Rescue! 🐰🐰 This is a *very* new effort that came out of the need to rescue three bunnies in a horrible situation where they were being mistreated and illegally sold. Since then, we've acquired more bunnies that are desperately in need of help. Most bunnies are at a very high risk of being euthanized due to mass overpopulation (not enough being spayed or neutered) and hoarding situations leading to every single rescue and shelter being massively over capacity. Two Rabbit Rescue is designed to help provide support and resources for all of these rescues and shelters, and we also take on bunnies that require specialized medical care or lifelong treatment to help ease the burden on these organizations (on top of our normal rescues). We really, really need your help. Please consider donating (any amount helps) - you'll be helping to cover: - Legal fees in setting up the nonprofit - Medical bills for spays, neuters, surgeries, microchipping, vaccines, etc... - Care and supplies for bunnies in need, including our fosters - Unexpected expenses incurred in saving bunnies from euthanasia - & much more. More information to come soon through an official Two Rabbit Rescue website. In the meantime, you can find links to donate and follow our social media account as well as the social media accounts for our two existing fosters (Evermore & Nightshade) on our Linktree: https://lnkd.in/giMYCbeG Questions on how to care for rabbits? Interested in fostering or adopting anywhere in the US? Get in touch *anytime*. I mean it. You can contact me here on LinkedIn, comment below, or contact us in any of the channels mentioned on our Linktree. If you can't help, but still want to, _please_ share, like, and/or comment to promote visibility!! It makes a difference!! #nonprofit #animalrescue #501c3 #rabbitrescue #bunnyrescue #fosterrabbit #lookingforforeverhome #rabbits #bunnies

With my best supporters by my side – here's why you should consider rescuing! Adopting my dogs has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Together, we’ve built a bond that’s hard to put into words. Here’s why I believe in rescuing: 🐾 A Second Chance: Rescued animals often come from difficult circumstances. By adopting, you’re giving them a new beginning filled with love and security. 🐾 Endless Gratitude: Rescued pets know they’ve been given a second chance, and they show their appreciation with loyalty and affection that can brighten any day. 🐾 Make a Difference: Every adoption helps reduce overcrowding in shelters, creating room for more animals to be saved. If you’re thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, consider visiting your local shelter. My dogs are a reminder every day of the joy and love a rescue can bring!
