Danto’s work moved the conversation about art from beauty and appearance to context and understanding, which laid the foundation of a broader phenomenon of art. His philosophical journey began after his encounter with Warhol’s Brillo, leading to his seminal essay, “The Artworld”. He served as an art critic for “The Nation” where he actively contributed to the debate of contemporary art. His writing related to art is unique and accessible to those interested in art. Danto’s ideas have paved the way for new avenues. Today we are remembering him for his distinct ideology which will endure here for a lifetime.
