As we edge closer to the festive season, the buzz is definitely building. The shops are fully stocked with mince pies (yes, I still miss the proper UK ones), holiday playlists are on repeat, and it’s getting harder to ignore the twinkle of lights everywhere you go. It’s also that time when work seems to speed up before it slows down. Final placements, end-of-year goals, and last-minute pushes to finish the year strong are all part of the December chaos. And for those of us in recruitment, you know it’s a balance between closing deals and prepping for January – one eye on the finish line and the other on what’s ahead. For me, this time of year is a great reminder to pause, take stock of the wins (big or small), and give credit where it’s due. Whether you’re smashing records, quietly grinding, or just keeping everything ticking along, it all counts. Let’s keep pushing, celebrate the little victories, and enjoy the festive buildup. And if you’ve already finished your Christmas shopping… teach me your ways. Cheers to the season!

There's just a few paydays left before Christmas!! And gift vouchers are crucial to HOSPITALITY revenue during the festive season. They play two important roles in your Christmas strategy. 1. Converting Christmas shoppers into future customers 2. Securing immediate revenue during the pre-Christmas period But how easy is it for your potential customers to purchase and receive your gift vouchers? → Can customers buy your gift vouchers online? → Are your vouchers available in both digital and physical formats? → Is your voucher pricing structure clear and appealing? → Can customers personalise their gift vouchers with messages? → Are the terms, conditions, and expiry dates clearly communicated? → Is your voucher redemption process simple and straightforward? → Have you promoted your vouchers across all your marketing channels? Also, are you relying on customers to visit your venue in person to purchase gift vouchers, potentially missing out on the huge online Christmas shopping market? There's a lot to consider to ensure you get it right in Q4 so feel free to DM me if you'd like any advice!

10 weeks till Christmas. 11 weeks till the end of the year. Everyone’s flat out. Retailers are all hitting the silly season and promoting stuff out of the shop. Tradies (good ones, anyway) have plenty of work to make people’s houses look good before the relatives visit. They’re looking at 2025. We’re not quite at Silly Season yet, but we soon will be. Everyone will be flat out crazy, and then they’ll disappear in a puff of smoke for the Festive Season, and not come back till February. So if there’s something you want to get done this year, act NOW! And if there’s something you want to get done in the first quarter of next year, act NOW! #planning #goals #goalsetting #timemanagement

🎄 5 Ways to Support #SmallBusinesses This Christmas 🎁 The holidays are a make-or-break time for small businesses, and your support can make a huge impact. Here’s how you can give back to the local legends who keep our #communities thriving: 1️⃣ Shop Local and Shop Early Forget last-minute big-box shopping! Head to your #local #stores, #markets, or small online businesses for unique gifts, festive decorations, and delicious treats. #Shopping early helps small businesses manage stock, reduce stress, and keep their cash flow healthy. 💡 Think handmade candles, artisan chocolates, or that one-of-a-kind gift that sparks joy. 2️⃣ Give the Gift of a Gift Card 🎟️ Not sure what to buy? A gift card from a local café, boutique, or beauty salon supports businesses now and gives your loved ones something special to enjoy later. Win-win! 💡 Perfect for hard-to-buy-for friends, teachers, or workmates. 3️⃣ Spread the Word 📣 Sharing is caring (and it’s free!). Post a glowing review, tag your favourite small businesses, or share their products and services on social media. Word-of-mouth and visibility are pure gold during the #Christmas rush. 💡 One post, one tag, one share—it might bring them their next loyal customer! 4️⃣ Celebrate Small 🎉 Planning a Christmas feast or party? Choose local caterers, #restaurants, and event planners. Booking with small businesses for #food, #drinks, and #services keeps your #festive spending close to #home. 💡 Why not make it a local affair? Think gourmet grazing platters, bespoke cakes, and small-batch drinks. 5️⃣ Gift Experiences, Not Just Things ✨ Support local #ServiceProviders by gifting #experiences—like spa treatments, workshops, personal training sessions, or local tours. Memories last longer than things, and small service businesses often rely on festive bookings. 💡 Give joy: A massage, a cooking class, or a day out at a local vineyard.
