Is balanced growth achievable and still our cities objective? The fact is, our cities have far more single-family homes than any other housing form. So, what's the solution? Middle housing provides diverse housing options and is often argued to not create affordable housing, but does new growth create affordable housing? Does supply help the market? If we don't proceed with middle housing, are we hoping that these homes will be preserved or simply turned into larger single-family homes or duplexes? Who shoulders the burden of these larger single-family homes or unbalanced growth? Let's explore the options and find a solution that benefits all and ultimately create more access and housing diversity. Check out my chat with Jyoti Gondek on these very topics below. #housing #affordablehousing #growth #middlehousing #diversehousingoptions
How do we handle growth as a city? Well, it's a balancing act. Full interview is available on YouTube: https://bit.ly/4aykXKF
