Quick question for my marketing friends out there: What’s one thing you do to market your business/products/services that is considered “basic” but consistently yields results? Comment below 👇🏼
Strive to provide value in every e-mail, conversation, run-into and any other interaction. It is astonishing how often people and scenarios come back around.
Answer our phones LIVE and by the 3rd ring! No voice mail jail, no phone tree - press 3, press2, press 1 garbage. Been that way for 21 years now and will never change. People want to talk to a real person when they call, not a machine. I do consider this part of "marketing".
Meet with people and have a conversation about what’s going on in their business. Whether that’s through my connections at BNSME, or in-person coffee/lunch meetings, or an introductory Zoom - I continue to learn how I can make a difference with the work we do. It’s amazing how many business leaders seem to be challenged with the same general five or six things.
Anticipate the challenge/pain points of your customers and set out to address them. Simple method - “they ask, you answer”. Whether that’s FAQs, short videos, articles, etc., people pay attention when they think you have the answer, and they’ll pick up that call or answer that email when they KNOW you do
Schedule “in person” within 48 hours for any warm lead. Also, since my businesses are residential, we use Facebook marketplace for free ad space and receive 10% of our business there. Not bad for a free marketing tool.
I’m not a “marketer” but I usually plan on over-delivering value…in essence, creating fans which becomes future marketing through referrals and testimonials ✌🏻
There is only one element that differentiates you from the competition YOU and your Customer Service that provides what the customer needs in a timely fashion.
