The new multi-tenant organization (MTO) capabilities within #Microsoft365 sound exciting! They may help solve challenges in three project types: 1️⃣ Mergers & Acquisitions: Leverage the invite-and-accept flow between tenant administrators to synchronize and secure IT environments of previously independent organizations. This could revolutionize the way IT mergers are conducted. 2️⃣ Carve-out: Transform the company into a multi-tenant organization before carving out individuals in one tenant as a new, separate entity. This eliminates the need for employees to switch between company accounts in Microsoft 365 until the companies are divided, a common issue during carve-out projects. 3️⃣ Subsidiaries: Implement a different set of policies for the subsidiary tenant than for the parent company tenant, without hindering collaboration. I’ve worked with subsidiaries who were sharing the same tenant with their parent company and had to constantly navigate around this, despite having different business, security, and compliance needs.
