Controversial opinion alert: Inclusion doesn't mean we all have to like each other. Neuroinclusion isn’t about creating workplaces where we all sit around in a circle, holding hands, singing together. It’s about something much harder - and much more impactful: respect. Here’s the truth: in diverse teams, we won’t always get along. Our brains work differently. We’ll approach problems differently. Communicate differently. And yes, sometimes, we’ll rub each other the wrong way. But the goal of neuroinclusion isn’t perfect harmony - it’s productive coexistence. It’s about creating systems and cultures where differences are understood and embraced, not just tolerated. We focus on collaboration, even where there's no connection. You don’t have to be best friends with your colleagues, but you do need to respect their needs, communicate with kindness, and work together effectively.
