This is one that I am looking forward to, I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous as well.
Speaking to a specialist audience on key areas like trade credit ratings and the impact that they can and do have on a restructuring/turnaround situation is both exciting and nerve-wracking in equal measures.
I hope that my relevant experience in these areas will be of some use to the audience and that some of the case studies we will walk through will demonstrate how understanding, improving, and monitoring trade credit rating during a structured turnaround is vital and can indeed be a real catalyst for material changes in cash and working capital.
We are looking forward to attending The Institute for Turnaround Midlands, West & Wales Conference 2024, for which we are the event partner.
Join us at the Ibis, Birmingham New Street, on 18th April, 8.30am-4pm and enjoy an insightful talk from Lightbulb’s Founder and CEO, James, taking place at 11.45am.

In today's market, there's an abundance of hype and superficial information. Hearing directly from enterprise companies about their "buy vs. build" strategies and AI adoption across the tech stack will provide valuable insights and help distinguish genuine solutions from empty promises.
S&P Global has recently made several announcements regarding their AI strategy, including new products and workforce initiatives with Swamy Kocherlakota spearheading these efforts.
John Deere has been exploring various internal initiatives and launching numerous new products. While releasing AI software products is relatively easier, integrating AI into equipment and machinery poses greater challenges. They're tackling these complex issues in the agricultural sector, and I'm eager to hear Scott A. discuss their progress.
Beyond applications, I'm particularly interested in hearing from researchers David Uminsky, Kristian Hammond, Matias Carrasco Kind, and Emmanouil (Manos) Koukoumidis about potential future development, including discussions on open vs. closed systems, trust & safety, etc
We're already witnessing the emergence of new companies from university research. Databricks, one of the most valuable companies in the field, was founded by seven Berkeley researchers. I anticipate that some of the next generation of AI companies will similarly arise from academic research - Northwestern UniversityUniversity of ChicagoUniversity of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Lastly, the importance of data will always supersede AI itself. I'm keen to hear from industry practitioners like Sohaj Shergill about their approach to this subject.

🔥Columbus, Ohio for golf?🔥
Columbus, Ohio, often celebrated for its strategic business location and vibrant lifestyle, is also swinging its way to becoming a premier golf haven. With a twist of character and a dash of statistics, let’s tee off into what makes Columbus a standout city.
At the heart of it all, Columbus is about progression— and nowhere is this more evident than in its embrace of golf. With over 70 meticulously designed golf courses dotted throughout its metro area—home to a bustling population projected to grow by 5% over the next decade—Columbus offers lush greens for every golfer from novice to pro.
The city's love affair with golf doesn't end on the fairway. Annually, the Greater Columbus Convention Center, sprawling over 1.8 million square feet of prime downtown real estate, transforms into a golfer’s paradise. It hosts multiple high-profile golf expos and tournaments that attract thousands, showcasing the latest in sports technology and gear. This venue isn't just large; it's one of the most actively booked centers in the nation, with over 350 events a year, including a growing roster of major golfing events.
Imagine this: You land in Columbus for a conference. You’re a mere 20-minute drive from joining a local golf tournament or enjoying a leisurely round with potential clients and business partners. Here, business and pleasure not only meet—they converge on the green.
After the 18th hole, the city’s safe, pedestrian-friendly streets invite you to explore. Whether it’s dining at a chef-owned restaurant or catching a live show downtown, there’s plenty to do just a short walk from the convention center.
And let’s talk about the local vibe—Columbus’s golf scene is teeming with character. From historic public courses that tell tales of past legends to private clubs that offer the luxe exclusivity of modern golfing, every corner of this city speaks to a rich, vibrant culture that's as diverse as its landscape.
With Columbus set to expand its convention center to accommodate more sporting events, the future looks bright. The city is positioning itself not just as a hub for business but as a cornerstone for golf tourism and events, promising even more reasons to visit, stay, and play.
So, whether you’re eyeing a permanent spot in our community or just swinging by, Columbus’s doors—and greens—are wide open. Come for the golf, stay for the spirit, and let Columbus be your home course away from home!
P.s. I am not affiliated with the convention center. I just genuinely wish more golf business and events were here.

As the Sales Director for the Greater Columbus Convention Center/ASM Global, I often hear how surprised people are once they visit Columbus and discover our amazing city.
One weekend here introduces you to our food scene, including craft breweries, distilleries, and food trucks. We have a rich collection of museums and are home to the Museum of Art, Center for Science and Industry, and the highly regarded Scioto Mile, a collection of trails and parks along the Scioto River. Other gems include North Market, Short North, and German Village which are all walkable from the Convention Center.
On top of that Columbus is also the fastest-growing city in the US.
I'm not the only one who loves this city.
Forbes featured Columbus, yet again!
Rethink the way you think about Ohio!

The BISON Restoration Services team is headed to Dallas next week for the 2024 RIA International Restoration Convention & Industry Expo! 🎉
Conventions aren't just about networking and flashy booths; they're about growth, connection, and community-building. Our team sees them as invaluable opportunities to expand our knowledge, make meaningful connections, and contribute to building a stronger community.
Our team goals for the convention:
1️⃣ Knowledge Expansion: Conventions are like treasure troves of insights, trends, and innovations. We're eager to soak up all the latest industry knowledge, techniques, and best practices. Because staying ahead means staying informed.
2️⃣ Connection Building: We believe in the power of relationships. Conventions provide the perfect platform to forge new connections, deepen existing ones, and collaborate with like-minded professionals. Because together, we can achieve so much more.
3️⃣ Community Enhancement: Our commitment to community extends beyond our own organization. We see conventions as opportunities to contribute to and enrich the broader professional community. Whether it's sharing our expertise, offering support, or simply lending an ear, we're here to make a positive impact.
So, as we pack our bags and prepare for RIA 2024, we're not just excited about the exhibits and workshops (although those are always interesting!). We're excited about the potential for growth, the chance to connect, and the opportunity to contribute to a better, stronger community. 🚀
