It seems like this news is from 2056, but no, it's happening now! Our childhood dreams are finally coming true. Meet the new ChatGPT-Powered "AGI Robot" created by Figure. ai. Let’s dive into it and learn why this is a breakthrough in both robotics and AI models. The robots we had before had two ways of operating: 1. Preprogramming [like industrial robots operating in manufacturing] 2. Teleoperation [robots operated by humans via remote controllers] On March 13, we got a completely different robot: 🎓 All its actions are LEARNED and not preprogrammed or teleoperated. This happens through a new AI model called Robotic-Transformer 2, that lets the robot learn both from the web and from visual and sound data, while examining the space around. So the robot can: ↳ Describe its visual experience ↳ Plan future actions ↳ Reflect on its memory ↳ Explain its reasoning verbally Thanks to these capabilities, the robot’s reaction to your phrase “I’m hungry” would be offering you an apple. The robot activates the chain of thoughts process: understands the problem, analyzes the space around, sees an apple, and offers it to you. This one looks like a real bridge to Artificial General Intelligence.
