I recently had an incredible conversation with a talented physical therapist and was so inspired by what they said. . . Here's top 5 pieces of advice they wish they had gotten earlier in their clinical career: 1. Don't let setting dictate your next move. Instead, choose "who" you want to help and the rest will take care of itself. 2. Negotiate based on facts and figures. End of the day, clinics are businesses. 3. As a doctor of physical therapy, you are the greatest authority on musculoskeletal care in the room. Don't let other providers try to box you out. 4. Being a clinician is just one part of your skillset. 5. You're as good as the clinicians you surround yourself with. Don't feed into the negativity and bullsh*t. I especially appreciate number 5. What are some pieces of advice for our new DPT grads entering the market? #PT #physicaltherapy #DPT

My daughter gets physical therapy 2x a week at #CHOP where I’ve seen this every time, but it continues to strike a chord with me. "Today it hurts. Tomorrow it works” This simple cross-stitch wisdom perfectly captures the journey of physical therapy and personal growth. Whether you're rehabbing an injury, learning a new skill, or developing cutting-edge technology: • Today's challenges are tomorrow's breakthroughs • Current discomfort leads to future strength • Present effort blooms into future capabilities So I’m here to attempt to practice what I preach, and challenge myself and my network to embrace the process, trust the journey, and remember: what challenges us today is sculpting a stronger, more capable us for tomorrow. P.S. - Physical Therapists are miracle workers 🙏 #PhysicalTherapy #GrowthMindset

How do our physical therapists (PT) make sure that people who are hesitant to do physical therapy get started? Golda Ibale, one of our PTs, shares “I always try to understand my patients. I make a point of listening to what their specific concerns and problems are. I don’t just walk into a home and give them orders. Oftentimes when patients are resistant to therapy, it’s because they don’t understand why they’re being told to do something. When I explain to them why they’re in pain, and what the exercises or medications are for, then they understand. And once they’re informed, they take an active part in their treatment.” Thank you, Golda, for always going the extra mile to understand your patients! Inspired by Golda's words? We'd love to have you join our team! Check out our PT job openings today. https://bit.ly/4eE0l5r #PhysicalTherapy #PhysicalTherapyMonth #MakingADifference #PhysicalTherapyCareers

As a physical therapist, friends and family often ask for recommendations on where to go for care. Conversely, I enjoy hearing about their experiences when I hear friends and family have been to physical therapy. Last week, during a catch-up with a friend who mentioned undergoing physical therapy, I eagerly asked about her experience - but I was taken aback by her response. She explained that she had finally found a practice she liked after trying out two others. When I asked why she left, she mentioned several issues: 1. She wasn't greeted upon entering the practice. 2. She was left alone to do exercises she could have done at home. 3. She didn't understand why she was doing hip exercises when her knee was the source of pain. 4. She overheard unprofessional conversations among staff that made her uncomfortable. While many practices excel in providing excellent care, it's disheartening to hear that there are patients who feel compelled to change practices due to inadequate service and care. And I acknowledge that while not every practice is suitable for every patient, it's concerning that multiple clinics in her area seem to lack some of the basics of running a successful practice: 1. Prioritizing the patient experience 2. Building strong patient relationships 3. Providing patient education 4. Maintaining professionalism I was planning on posting about additional revenue streams today, but this felt more pressing—to send a reminder that although we treat patients day in and day out, each of our patients experiences their care from the viewpoint of one. Thanks to all the providers serving their patients, and here's to elevating the profession. #patientexperience #operationalexcellence #customerservice #patienteducation

We began as "reconstruction aides," then became known as "physiotherapy aides," and now we're called "physical therapists." ... But why didn't we hold onto the title of "reconstruction aides" with pride? Why aren't we still insisting on being called "physiotherapy aides?" ... Because with time comes change. With time comes growth and innovation. ... If "physical therapists" are paid for CPT codes, yet what we do goes far beyond the scope of a CPT code, why are we still fighting to be called "physical therapists" and label our work as just "physical therapy?"

Hey Physical Therapist : Let’s talk about why you need to incorporate Dynasplint Systems into your routine! The dynamic splints use a low-load, prolonged-duration stretch technology. By mimicking a therapist's hands, Dynasplint delivers a biomechanically correct stimulus to increase joint range of motion and create permanent length change in shortened connective tissue. With its adjustable tensioning system, allows continuous improvement for patient's end range of motion. This allows for hours of additional stretch time in the convenience of patients' own homes. If you incorporate Dynasplint Systems into rehab programs as soon as patients are cleared for PROM, they can maintain gains made at therapy visits and continue to make progress at home. **as you can see my patient is already up to 105 flexion!!*** Let’s incorporate a Dynasplint into your patients' rehab programs today! #DynasplintSystems #PhysicalTherapy #Rehabilitation #Rangeofmotion
