Can I really show up as my ‘True Inner-Self at work’ Let’s face it, being your authentic self outside of the workplace is easy right, We get to make our own rules, operate on our own timings, and express ourselves in a way that is freeing to our mind, heart and soul. BUT, how can we achieve the same in our working environment when someone else makes the rules, there is a level of expectation and the dynamics can be challenging? Here are my three key steps to smashing the expectations and challenges successfully, all whilst being true to your awesome self! 1. Know who you are deeply. 2. Understand your non-negotiable’s. 3. Work in a place that is aligned to your values and beliefs, that way it doesn’t feel like work at all. Being Authentic is to be ‘true to yourself’ knowing you are worthy of acceptance, just as you are, However this takes work on a deeper level. Being ‘authentic’ doesn’t give you a free pass to be rude, arrogant or obnoxious, it is a complicated and delicate process. A leader who demonstrates a positive inclusive leadership style together with authenticity, makes an incredible impact on individuals, teams, and the organisation as a whole. How are you showing up as your true self at work, share in the comments ⬇️

In the crucible of real-world challenges, authenticity reigns supreme. Reflecting on history, it is evident that front line practitioners and employees value honesty and grit over mere pleasantries. Think about the soldiers of WWII: they revered leaders like General Patton, a rough-around-the-edges general who never shied away from the front lines where the battles were waged. His blunt demeanor may not have won him any popularity contests, but his unwavering commitment to his troops forged an unbreakable bond. They knew he was with them, in the thick of it, facing the same risks they did. Contrast this with General Bradley, who offered mere words of encouragement from behind the safety of fortified walls. While well-intentioned, Bradley’s distant leadership lacked the raw authenticity that soldiers craved. It was Patton's willingness to get his hands dirty, to face the same dangers as his troops, that earned him their respect and loyalty. Today's workplace is no different. Employees value leaders who are genuine, who are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and tackle challenges alongside them. We would all rather have someone who is grim but true, rather than well-spoken but disingenuous. Let us strive to embody the spirit of Patton in our leadership roles: honest, bold, and unafraid to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our teams, come what may. Authenticity breeds trust, and trust is the cornerstone of any successful endeavor. #leadership #aba #management Rebel ABA Autism Reimagined, LLC

It's funny, when we talk about these cultures people sometimes focus on cultures with 'too much' empathy. or 'comfy cultures that are all fluffy'. Truly compassionate cultures aren't that at all. They are psychologically safe, honest, highly productive and arguably, most importantly, self accountability is at the core of the behaviour and motivation. It's all about leadership and nothing to do with it at the same time. When you stop telling and start listening, magic can happen. But it's not easy to get there unless you really want to and you become intentional about it. It's possible that many leaders and many cultures are accidental rather than intentional because leaders haven't don't what we in the coaching business call "the work". #newworldleadership #intentionalcultures #selfaccountability

“L’orgueil précède la ruine, et l’esprit hautain précède la chute.” Olala! Chirine is back with her posts 😅… I was discussing with T today and he inspired me to write about Pride (Orgueil) … Now, don’t get me wrong, healthy pride can be a great thing. It’s what drives us to do our best, to feel good about our accomplishments, and to take ownership of our work. But when pride crosses into ego? That’s when things start to get shaky. In the #workplace, pride can show up in those little (and not-so-little) ways: ignoring feedback, assuming we’re the smartest person in the room or taking all the credit for a team effort… When we’re too focused on proving ourselves to the top, we miss out on valuable ideas and opportunities for real collaboration! No one achieves great things alone… Every success story has a team behind it, even if the star of the show sometimes “forgets” to mention that… Each team member brings something unique to the table. People respect #leaders who lift others up rather than those who stand on them to feel tall… People respect leaders who make room for others to shine. Ego builds walls; humility builds bridges. Again, there is nothing wrong with feeling proud of our work, just keep it balanced with a dose of self-awareness! So, next time you’re about to dismiss someone’s idea / project / hard word or let your title speak for itself, remember that real success is sustainable, inclusive, and, above all, humble! Any other proverbs to complement my post 😅 #StayHumble #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership
