Debora Pfaff Dr Pfaff, Excellent paper. Thanks for sharing this. I highly recommend both junior (developing Intel professionals) and senior associates read this. An interesting follow study might be what we can do to further US private/cooperate sharing, that also recognizes that our partners in the business world have "trade secrets/scientific processes", they might share with the US Government or Allies. These things they develop are "unclassified", but they don't necessarily want their cooperate/overseas competitors to know and replicate exactly, therefore hurting their future business? This is to help build trust. What might a new or adapted classification designation look like for that in 2025?
Proud to announce my most recent publication on the substantial public safety benefits that derive from the Intelligence Community declassifying information related to private sector security. Co-authored with Trisha Ripley with ODNI's Private Sector Partnerships, this NIU Research Short emphasizes that transparency and the free flow of critical information can foster trust, enhance understanding, and promote beneficial public-private partnerships.

Today, Narravance had the honor of participating in a critical webinar addressing the aftermath of the tragic assassination of UHC CEO Brian Thompson. The discussion spotlighted a dangerous shift: the normalization of targeted violence beyond traditional extremist groups, driven by systemic grievances and amplified through social media. The lionization of the shooter and the growing use of hashtags like #classwar illustrate the need for corporate security strategies to evolve. Proactive social media monitoring must become a standard practice for highly visible organizations—not just an optional add-on. We’re grateful to the ASIS International CSO Center, Life Safety Alliance, GCLETE, and our co-sponsors for creating a platform to discussthese emerging threats. A special thanks to experts Matthew Dumpert (Kroll Inc.) and Steve Crimando, MA, CTM (Behavioral Sciences Applications) for their invaluable insights. As well as Mark Genatempo and Michael Gips for introductions and moderation. Narravance remains committed to empowering businesses to anticipate, assess, and respond to these modern security challenges. Let’s continue to innovate together in protecting lives and livelihoods.

If I were to list let's say four of the most important security industry groups at work developing something, one would be the BID Foundation's 'safe and secure' working group. It's proof that the private sector cannot wait for the public sector to get around to noticing some standard or something needs developing. Private industry has to do at least half the work. Much more on business improvement districts' on-street patrolling in the July edition of Professional Security Magazine. A taste on this link. https://lnkd.in/eXTwJwjc
