🌐 Areti to avoid €460 Million in Public Investments thanks to Flexibility 🚀 We're thrilled to share a video reference featuring the CEO of Areti, discussing how #LocalFlexibility, enabled by the RomeFlex project and Siemens collaboration, will significantly reduce hardware investments over the next decade. Areti has projected two scenarios to address the challenges of energy transition that - as Distribution System Operator - will have to tackle (increasing electrification of consumption and spread of Distributed Energy Resources #DERs). 🔧 Scenario 1: Traditional Approach Solely hardware investments (network expansion, cables and transformers replacement). Required investment by 2032: €1075 million 💡 Scenario 2: Hybrid Approach (HW + Flexibility) Reduced hardware investments, managing load peaks and potential congestion through flexibility. Total investment by 2032: €615 million, including €420 million on HW and €130 million on flexibility procurement. The NIGERIAN COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE LIMITED (NIGCOMSAT)) has initiated the process to replace its current communications satellite, NIGCOMSAT-1R, and is actively seeking international investors and partners to support the endeavor. The initiative, spearheaded by NIGCOMSAT’s Managing Director, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, is a response to the impending expiration of NIGCOMSAT-1R’s operational lifespan, which is anticipated to conclude in 2026 after 15 years of service. In anticipation of the satellite’s lifecycle completion, the management at NIGCOMSAT is taking preemptive measures to ensure that there is no interruption in service. The proactive approach aims to secure a seamless transition to the new satellite infrastructure.
