I am enjoying my current read “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman. “This is the essence of intuitive heuristics: when faced with a difficult question, we often answer an easier one instead, usually without noticing the substitution” How true is this, and I find myself thinking back to decisions I, or friends and colleagues, have made. Did we answer the wrong question? So powerful, and can be applied in professional and personal situations. #FastandSlowThinking #CriticalThinking #BusinessDecisions #LifeDecisions

New is cool, but in the long run, old and dull wins. This is the thinking behind the Lindy Effect, a mental framework that introduces a simple idea: ↓ The longer something has been around, the longer it's likely to last. A simple example is the longevity of classic books compared to the short life span of New York Times best sellers. Books that have been relevant for a long time are more likely to remain relevant. It’s a concept that can be applied to technologies, practices, and ideas. Use this in your decision-making process next time you want longevity. _____________________________________________________________________ 💡If this concept of the Lindy Effect makes you question some of your past decisions, then you'll love my weekly newsletter: Impact Thinking. The Paradox of Praxis: When “Doing” Redefines “Knowing” Ever felt like the effort you’re putting in seems to lead nowhere? That’s the essence of the Paradox of Praxis—the idea that sometimes, our actions appear futile, yet they carry transformative meaning beneath the surface. This concept was brought to life by artist Francis Alÿs in his work Paradox of Praxis 1, where he spent hours pushing a block of ice through the streets of Mexico City until it melted. On the surface, his effort seemed pointless. But in reality, it sparked conversations about persistence, labor, and how value is often measured by visible outcomes rather than the lessons learned in the process. In our professional lives, how often do we measure success only by immediate results? What about the effort, resilience, and unseen growth that come with “doing”? Sometimes, the journey itself teaches us more than the destination ever could. The Paradox of Praxis reminds us: Not all effort is wasted. Even when “nothing” seems to come of it, the act of doing can reshape our understanding and open doors to unexpected insights.

This book is about the two systems of thinking that influence our decisions. It explains how our automatic, quick, and subconscious thinking (System 1) can lead to biases and errors, and how our deliberate, analytical, and conscious thinking (System 2) works, and why it is more accurate but slower and requires more cognitive resources. This book explains how these two systems interact and influence our judgments, showing when to rely on intuition and when to engage in reflective thinking to make better decisions! I learned a lot!

💡 Your gut is your most underutilized business tool. 💡 It’s not just a feeling—it’s a finely-tuned system processing patterns faster than your conscious mind. Here’s why your gut is your greatest asset: 1️⃣ It’s faster than your brain. Your gut instinct kicks in before logic has time to analyze. 2️⃣ It’s where logic and creativity collide. Your gut doesn’t need charts to see the whole picture—it feels it. 3️⃣ It’s where clarity speaks. When it’s a yes, you feel it. When it’s a no, you know it. ✨ And the science backs it up. A study from the University of Amsterdam found that gut-driven decisions outperform data-based analysis in complex situations. Your gut isn’t magic—it’s mastery in disguise. Trust it, and watch your business transform. Lengua Madre 🔮 #IntuitiveStrategy #Science #CompetitiveAdvantage #Andalittlemagic 😏
