The ability to troubleshoot a wide range of mechanical systems. What inspired you to pursue an apprenticeship rather than another path? Being able to master a craft and develop a skill that no one can take from you. You write your own ticket when you can solve problems. How has this experience shaped your goals for the future? When I started on day one, it almost seemed impossible to learn everything this trade throws at you. I've gone from trying to learn the basics to really digging in and being the best technician I can be. What advice would you give to someone considering an apprenticeship? It doesn't matter your previous experience. If you work well with others, are willing to listen and learn, and retain information thrown at you things will work out. Where do you see yourself in the next few years, thanks to this apprenticeship? I would like to see myself as a trusted journeyman who can be thrown on any piece of equipment.

Teamwork and learning how to work with many different types of equipment. What inspired you to pursue an apprenticeship rather than another path? Career Security, great pay, the opportunity to work with you hands, and learn a trade. How has this experience shaped your goals for the future? It has given me a path to a promising future in a trade that you continue to learn something new everyday. What advice would you give to someone considering an apprenticeship? That if you are interested in a great well paid career and the opportunity to learn and take on new challenges, this is for you. Where do you see yourself in the next few years, thanks to this apprenticeship? I see myself graduating as a journeyman and transferring these skills into the workforce.

Understanding the fundamentals of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, diagnosing and resolving complex system issues. What inspired you to pursue an apprenticeship rather than another path? A friend inspired me to explore the trade, highlighting how it could empower me to handle my own projects at home. How has this experience shaped your goals for the future? The knowledge and confidence I’ve gained have reinforced my goal to continue learning and improving so someday in the future I could take on larger projects. What advice would you give to someone considering an apprenticeship? Be patient with yourself. Give yourself grace and time to learn. When I started, I was completely new to the trade and faced many challenges during the first two years. But with practice and good leadership eventually everything started to make sense. Thanks to this apprenticeship, where do you see yourself in the next few years? Thanks to the apprenticeship, I see myself becoming a confident and skilled HVAC tech and possibly stepping into a leadership role.

Here's what makes the #European (especially German / Swiss / Austrian 🇩🇪 🇨🇭 🇦🇹 ) #apprenticeship system so competitive in educating tomorrow's #construction and #manufacturing talent and leaders: - The "apprenticeship" path (vs. the "academic" path) is still much more accepted in society and seen as a valid career option - The education systems allow for a lot of later industry-related career transfers. Apprenticeships are the perfect foundation for that. Want to do an apprenticeship as a mason, work on the job for 3-4 years, go on to become a foreman for a couple of years and then transfer to a technical college to become an engineer in your 30's? No problem! - Programs are licensed and certified on a national level making trades comparable across jurisdictions (an Industrial electrician will have the same set of skills right out of his apprenticeship no matter if he was educated in Bavaria or Berlin) - MOST (if not ALL) trades require licensing.
