A few of our team members had fun and were excited about being a part of ETRetail’s annual event in Bangalore. During the event our founder and CEO, Somdutta Singh, shared her insights and learnings regarding the rapidly growing ecommerce market. She stands as a great example of a strong woman leading many men and being extremely knowledgable and a thought-leader and Swiss Army knife in global ecommerce distribution and supply chain management. As Som is mentioning in the interview, being smart in bundling is one of many factors and tricks that can help you win the customer and buy-box. Especially (but not necessarily) when seeking flexible and diverse offerings with a small range of SKUs. Particularly for the Indian market, we have been following QC-development closely. Time will tell whether the business model will be able to obtain and sustain profitability or whether it will end up as a big black hole in the market. Interesting to see for how long market players can continue to raise capital to maintain and compete in the event of the latter. Regardless, at Assiduus we are convinced that we are in the right place and that maintenance of D2C brand’s growth trajectory majorly depends on their distribution and supply chain efficiency, hereunder access to and utilization of multi-channel and multi-country partners like us.

Can companies do without intermediaries in the tech industry? 🤔 Every time I head back to Padova, I make sure to catch up with my old friends Andrea Scaramuzzi, Nicolò Sambugaro and Giorgia Biasio. We sit down, we chat about life, and inevitably the conversation shifts to work. Our last meetup #topic: we started questioning whether #intermediaries in the #tech industry are really necessary. I decided to dig deeper and see if companies could simply do without them… 🤷🏽♂️ ✅ Here are my insights about the real #value intermediaries can bring to the table (pic👇)! [The bullet points example is well suited to a digital services B2B marketplace.] So what’s the answer? Well, not every intermediary platform is committed to meet all these points, but what matters most is the result of the equation: to reduce transaction #costs between the parties. If this happens, the intermediary makes sense. In my next post, I'll dive into how Shakers is struggling to reduce these transaction costs to ensure every user—whether a client or a provider—has the best experience possible on the platform.
