Good Monday morning to you!
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and got to spend some time with family and friends. We have now officially entered the time in our industry where there is a lot of stop-and-go. The next four weeks have a history of being riddled with inconsistency due to the holidays, but it is an important time of the year to reconnect with others, as well as recharge for the upcoming year. It is a time when we tend to re-evaluate the year, and make some commitments to ourselves on what we want the next year to look like for us, set some new goals, and tweak our operations to meet those goals so we hit the ground running January 1st, 2025.
It appears that with the abbreviated week last week, The Report has not been published, but I do have some numbers on other items that I track from other sources.
The Numbers
-New SFH sales drop off 17.3% in Oct - that is 9.4% lower than the same time a year ago
-SC unemployment rate up 4.5% in Oct
Housekeeping
-If you witness something outstanding from one of our drivers, or any other Buck Lumber employee, please share it. One of our goals going into 2025 is to recognize, on a more consistent basis, those who go above and beyond.
-There is a lot of money left on the table every year that you are not claiming if you are member of the HBA. You can claim your rebates here.

Product Knowledge
You’ve heard a lot from me on CS Cavity Sliders Kits. A lot of builders have already made the transition and are adding to the upgraded pocket door frame, SofStop. Here is a quick video on specs and installation that you should be aware of. Please share this with your installers.
