What is health economics? Sub-discipline of economics. Mainly micro based using economic theories and empirical techniques and applying them to health and healthcare. - Concerned with the ‘market’ for health. - Demand individuals have for health itself and health care. - Supply of health care. - Explores the distinguishing features of health care markets and implications these have both for the best ways to deliver health care and the limitations of traditional economic tools for studying health care markets.
