Initiative Africa Conducts Training on Trauma-Informed Teaching and Mental Health Recovery in Tigray Axum City, Tigray Region – Initiative Africa successfully organized a training program on “Trauma-Informed Teaching, Coping Strategies, and Community Engagement in Mental Health Recovery” for teachers from Central and Northwest Tigray. The training aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to address mental health challenges in post-conflict settings. Key topics covered included: • Understanding trauma: concepts, types, and characteristics, • Coping strategies for teachers, students, and the broader community, • Community engagement in promoting mental health recovery, • Strategies for supporting students' mental health, and • Self-care practices for educators. The sessions were enhanced with practical examples to ensure the applicability of the concepts in classroom and community contexts.
