A few notes and insights on the creation of "TIDEBORNE" in 47 hours and 38 minutes (submitted 22 minutes before deadline 👀 ) - because making a good AI film in 2 days is haaarrrd. - The theme is actually a hand-made combination of a music track and a separate voice, one made with Suno, the other with Udio (I'll let you guess which is which ;) - I used probably 20+ variations of various snippets of that voice track to create all the eerie voices in the film, and mixed them in at key moments for best cinematic effect. - Over 50% of the shots were generated with Text-to-Video - the realistic footage the creatures "sing" about. - The 2D animated footage required surprisingly few re-rolls - Midjourney and Runway perform so well now (and Gen3 Turbo being blazing fast) that it was much quicker than during GEN48's previous edition. - Combining both however meant nearly half of the shots in the film required compositing, which was a ton of work but was well worth it to make this animated short unique!
