One of the standout perks at Deloitte Canada is undoubtedly our ~10 "Deloitte Days", a unique benefit that is part of our Talent Value Proposition (TVP). These pre-determined days off throughout the calendar year are truly a game-changer, and I must say, they are my personal favorite! What's even more exciting this year is the introduction of three dedicated days specifically for professional learning and development. This innovative approach allowed me to confidently log out of my inbox and immerse myself in valuable L&D activities that elevate my learning journey. Today, I took full advantage of this opportunity by enrolling in a LinkedIn course on Negotiation Skills. As someone who is always looking to upskill in critical areas, this course was incredibly insightful and practical. Additionally, I completed a few in-house training sessions that align perfectly with my professional aspirations. A heartfelt thank you to Deloitte Canada for creating and championing this perk. It’s initiatives like these that truly drive value for employees like myself. I wholeheartedly appreciate and enjoy this benefit, and I do not take it for granted. This ONE truly makes a difference! 🙏 #DeloitteCanada #LearningAndDevelopment #EmployeePerks #ProfessionalGrowth #NegotiationSkills #CareerDevelopment #Thankful ------------------------------------------------- Want to learn more about the Deloitte Days? One Year at Deloitte – What a Ride! Contrary to what LinkedIn thinks, my work anniversary with Deloitte was yesterday - 25/09, so naturally I thought I’d have more time to gather my thoughts for this post, but LinkedIn had other plans! I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I started this chapter with Deloitte. Time has flown, and as I look back, I’m proud and humbled by how much I’ve grown. So, It only seems fitting to reflect on some of my key takeaways from the past year. 🌀 Adaptability is Everything: If there’s one thing this job has taught me, it’s that no plan is set in stone. Things change—often. Being flexible and ready to ‘pivot’ when needed has been a game-changer. Whether it’s reworking a strategy or jumping into a project halfway through, I’ve learned to embrace change and roll with the punches. 🗣️ Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Cliché but true! Collaborating with so many talented people has been a highlight. I’ve seen how diverse perspectives lead to the best solutions. Communication, trust, and a good sense of humor make even the toughest projects manageable. 📚 Learning Never Stops: I’ve come to appreciate the fast pace of learning. Whether it’s picking up new skills or refining what I know, there’s always something new. And the support from colleagues and mentors has been invaluable. 🚀 Never Be Afraid to Take the Risk: Taking risks often leads to the greatest rewards. Whether it’s speaking up with a bold idea or tackling a new project, or even hosting a massive event! Sure, it’s intimidating at first, but those moments of uncertainty are where real growth happens! 🙏 Gratitude Above All: I wouldn’t be where I am today without the amazing support system here. From the welcoming onboarding to everyday camaraderie, my colleagues, mentors, and teams have made all the difference. Your guidance and encouragement are things I value the most. What’s even better is that now I get to pass these learnings and experiences on to the new hires joining the company! So here’s to a year of growth, learning, and a few curveballs! And to many more challenges, successes, and great times ahead. Can’t wait to see where the next year takes me - Cheers! #Grateful #OneYearStrong #Deloitte #LearningAndGrowing #Teamwork #WorkAnniversary

Reflecting on My First Month at Deloitte As I approach one month since I joined Deloitte, I am amazed by how informative and fun the experience has been so far. Over just a month, I've encountered extraordinary learning experiences and gained knowledge that I will be using for the remainder of my career. Here are some of my key takeaways from Deloitte so far: 1. Fostering Connections: Deloitte has provided me with ample opportunity to meet my colleagues from across the country. I have been blessed to build meaningful relationships and learn from experienced professionals about day to day life through our in person onboarding and new-hire meetups. 2. Company Culture: I am continually impressed with how Deloitte has worked to foster employee wellbeing. Not only that, but the open arms with which higher level staff have greeted myself and the other new hires has been commendable. 3. Continuous Learning: There has been a steep learning curve, but I will be using the skills I am growing for the rest of my career. Every day presents an opportunity to learn and grow, from trainings to helpful colleagues. As I look forward to the many months ahead, I am excited to continue my journey with Deloitte, deepening my knowledge, expanding my skill set, and contributing to our shared mission. I am eager to see what challenges and opportunities lie ahead, and how I will continue to grow both professionally and personally. #DeloitteLife #CareerJourney

I published two posts a few weeks back with the questions why people want to join Deloitte, and why they stay with us. Now it’s time for the last, important, and also quite obvious question: why do people leave Deloitte? The answer to this, based on the data we collect in exit interviews and listening sessions, is most often connected to people’s own career development aspirations whereas e.g., compensation being lower on the list. We naturally wouldn't want our talent to leave Deloitte, but we understand we cannot totally avoid it either. While delivering real value to our clients and people, we also recognize our role as a learning platform, and there will always be situations when people do transition to next chapter in their careers outside our firm. But what we can do is to ensure the following: 📍 We continue to make sure inclusive leadership, job content, development opportunities and smart colleagues stay at the top of the list of why people do join Deloitte and work for us; and do this by providing our people with the learning and growth opportunities we promise. 📍 We emphasize the importance of the life-long learning part in our strategy as we stand on the doorstep of a whole new area in corporate learning and development – that calls for all people in professional services industry to learn whole new competencies. We all need to take action in aligning our skillsets to the future client agendas – both at organizational and individual level. Individualized learning paths that new technologies can provide to support one’s development are going to change the game fully. 📍 We make sure that our Alumni feel connected to us and know they are welcome back. Being “Colleagues for life” means we celebrate people’s achievement beyond Deloitte; while we naturally wish them also to return! And in fact, in the last 12 months, 10% of the professionals we have hired are boomerang employees – i.e., people who have left but returned to our firm after leaving. And the total percentage of rehires in our organization has increased to 7%. Me being one of those! I had the privilege to meet two Deloitte Alumni, Colleagues for life Henrietta Haavisto and Titta Heikkinen, over lunch last week. I asked them why they left and what Deloitte gave to them. I was curious to hear their answers, and I'm sure you are too. Stay tuned! #Colleaguesforlife

A Journey with Deloitte GSM Season 8 🌟 Thrilled to share one of the standout experiences from my second year: participating in Deloitte Graduate School Maverick (GSM) Season 8. This prestigious competition was an incredible opportunity to dive deep into the corporate world, sharpen my skills, and collaborate with brilliant minds. Out of over 400 participants from Christ University, I was honored to make it to the top 48. Alongside my teammates, Ashwin Ranga, Harish Rahul, and Kashish, we entered the Debating round. Although we didn't advance past this stage, the journey was nothing short of exhilarating. Key Learnings and Experiences: 💡 Corporate Insights: The competition provided a unique window into the workings of a leading global firm like Deloitte. It was fascinating to understand the strategic thinking and innovative approaches employed by the company. 🤝 Team Collaboration: Working closely with Ashwin, Harish, and Kashish taught me the importance of effective teamwork. We navigated complex challenges together, leveraging each other's strengths and learning from our diverse perspectives. 🎤 Debating Skills: The Debating round was a test of our analytical thinking and communication skills. Preparing for and engaging in debates honed my ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively under pressure. 📈 Exposure to Corporate Environment: Participating in Deloitte GSM was an eye-opener into the fast-paced, dynamic world of corporate business. The exposure to real-world business problems and the opportunity to propose solutions was invaluable. 🔍 Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: The entire process emphasized the need for critical thinking and innovative problem-solving. It was a reminder that success in the corporate world often hinges on one's ability to think outside the box and adapt quickly. Community and Future Goals: This experience has strengthened my resolve to pursue a career in the corporate sector. It has equipped me with practical skills and a deeper understanding of the industry, both of which are crucial as I move forward in my professional journey. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of Deloitte GSM Season 8 and look forward to applying the insights and experiences gained to future endeavors. The journey has been a testament to the importance of perseverance, collaboration, and continuous learning. #DeloitteGSM #ChristUniversity #CorporateExposure #Teamwork #DebatingSkills #CriticalThinking #ProfessionalGrowth #Innovation #CareerDevelopment
