After a six-year hiatus, Asia is set to get a dedicated business aviation trade show. The Business Aviation Asia Forum & Expo is coming to Singapore in March 2025, staged by the Singapore Airshow organizer Experia Events Pte Ltd. I've long been of the view that Singapore is the right place for a show that is accessible and relevant to the wider Asia Pacific region. I still carry the scar tissue from having to beg for visas to enter China for earlier shows. I suspect Chinese HNWIs will find it a more comfortable environment in which to salivate over their next private jet than Shanghai. But now the buyers come from further afield----Malaysia, Thailand, India, Japan, plus Cambodia, and Vietnam, to name but a few sub-markets: https://lnkd.in/gg8uGSAp

For most travelers, flying in business and first class, especially on international flights, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. ➡️ A business class ticket can cost up to five times more than an economy ticket on Singapore Airlines — and a whopping 13 times more for a first-class one. ➡️ However, Singaporean Aaron Wong, a former management consultant who founded the travel website The MileLion in 2015, said he flies about eight to nine business and first-class flights per year. Some are regional flights, others are long-haul ones. But the best part? He flies almost for free. Scroll to find out how to start accumulating airline miles and start your first class journey. Last week, I visited Turkey for the first time and flew with Pegasus Airlines. When I landed at Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul, I was surprised to see how much of the airport was all about Pegasus. This made me curious about their stock. I found out that Pegasus Airlines’ stock has jumped from 5 TL to 200 TL in 7 years! One big reason is the rise in tourism to Turkey. It’s amazing to see how a company can grow so much. There are many opportunities in every market; you just need to take a closer look. This is a great example of spotting growth opportunities. Pegasus Airlines , please make your seats more comfortable 👌😂 #Investing #Travel #Turkey #StockMarket #PegasusAirlines

#Deepdive: UAE's Etihad & China’s 2nd biggest airline announce a global first 🙌🙌 The two biggies have decided to shun competition and rather join hands to serve a massive market. What exactly has happened? The two airlines just had a baby. Let’s learn! .. China Eastern is a massive airline with over 617 aircraft in operational fleet. -> That practically makes it bigger IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) and all of Air India Limited group combined. Imagine how big it is! -> And for long, this giant had been competing with Middle Eastern carriers, when it came to ferrying tourists & business people from both the nations into each other’s lands But, last year, things began changing. .. China Eastern & Abu Dhabi’s flag carrier Etihad began talking about a whole new partnership. Outcome? They have announced a joint venture airline which will be launched by next year. .. Why is this big? -> Because all of a sudden, two of the biggest airlines serving the traffic between two regions will become one & stop competing -> By pooling resources & expertise, they will also be able to optimize their operations, reduce costs & expand their reach That means an opportunity for both parties to make more money, than competing for market share. .. Also, geopolitically, it's a reflection of the growing economic & political ties between China and the UAE. By collaborating on this joint venture, both countries are sending a signal of cooperation, trust and mutual interest. And with precedent being set, we might see more collaborations like this. .. And frankly, this is any which way a landmark event. -> A joint venture between two major airlines from different regions is unprecedented. It had never happened before. -> It's a bold experiment that could reshape the way airlines collaborate and compete. Though, it will be interesting to see how the will address potential challenges, such as cultural differences, regulatory hurdles, and operational complexities. What do you think? .. 11 Southeast Asian airlines have earned a spot among the top 100 in the 2024 World Airline Awards announced by Skytrax on Monday. The prestigious awards, often referred to as the ‘Oscars of the Aviation Industry’, were declared at a grand ceremony held at the Fairmont Windsor Park near London’s Heathrow Airport. For the eighth time in the 25-year history of the awards, Qatar Airways was named the World’s Best Airline. Singapore Airlines, last year’s winner, was a close second, and Emirates took third place. UK-based Skytrax noted that the votes were the closest run since the awards began, requiring a recount. AirAsia continued its dominance in the low-cost category, being crowned the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the fourteenth consecutive year. In the long-haul, low-cost category, Singapore’s Scoot emerged victorious. The survey, conducted from September 2023 to May 2024, involved over 21 million customers from 100 countries, evaluating more than 350 airlines.
