📢 New Grant Funding Opportunity 📢 Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is to invest approximately £3 million in innovation projects in the creative sector. This funding is from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) Create Growth Programme and has a regional focus across 12 regions, including Greater Lincolnshire. The programme support package will comprise of three complementary strands: business support targeted at the creative industries, finance and investor capacity building activities. The aim of this competition is to provide a package of targeted support to high-growth creative businesses to scale, build investor networks and reach their potential. This funding is designed to help creative businesses explore new innovation projects as a stimulus for growth. 🚨DEADLINE is approaching to apply for the Creative Catalyst Challenge Fund 🚨   Creative Catalyst Challenge Fund is back for its second round and is now accepting proposals for funding, targeting innovative R&D projects that aim to decarbonise or reduce waste within the Creative Industries. With a total grant pot of £250,000, the fund is designed to support creative entrepreneurs and companies in the UK working towards reducing their environmental impact and contributing to net-zero goals.    The proposed new product/system or process will enable companies to build upon their creative and commercial ideas, creating opportunity for business growth.  For Round 2 – we will allocate the £250,000 funding pot as follows:  🌱 1 award of up to £100,000 for more established businesses with market traction and customers of a product, ideally with co-investment in place  🌱 2 awards of up to £50,000 each for businesses 2+ years old looking to develop a new product or idea  🌱 2 awards of up to £25,000 each – very early-stage/new businesses and R&D ideas   Applications close July 22nd at 9am. The latest Annual Knowledge Transfer Survey has just been published, revealing some impressive milestones for Ireland's research and innovation landscape. 🔍 Insights from the Annual Knowledge Transfer Survey 2023 The key highlights are as follows: A total of 26 spin-out companies were created in 2023, representing an 8% increase compared to the previous year. This growth is indicative of a thriving environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in Ireland. There has been an 18% increase in the number of people employed in active spin-out companies, with 1,845 individuals now in work in this sector. These spin-outs are not only creating employment opportunities but are also playing a pivotal role in driving Ireland's economic growth. The continued collaboration between businesses and Research Performing Organisations (RPOs) is a significant factor in the success of these partnerships, with a total of 948 collaborative research agreements signed in 2023. It is evident that such partnerships are of significant value, as they facilitate growth, innovation and competitiveness for companies, particularly Irish SMEs, on a global scale. Furthermore, the report emphasises the crucial role of intellectual property, with 206 licenses, options and assignments (LOAs) executed, representing a 16% increase from 2022. #KTI #AKTS2023 #Innovation #Research #Collaboration #EconomicGrowth

EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office, member of #INSME, in collaboration with Invest Europe published the new study “Protecting European Innovation: Private Equity’s Role in European Intellectual Property Rights". This report sheds light on how #privateequity and #venturecapital play a vital role in fostering innovation and development across Europe. As noted by Eric de Montgolfier, CEO of Invest Europe : “Innovation is the beating heart of successful companies and, by extension, the lifeblood of thriving economies.” Therefore, incentivizing innovation through tools such as private equity, venture capital, and robust IP protection can actually boost the entrepreneurial sector and, in full, the economy both on a small and large scale.
