Have you ever thought about giving your fans more than just merch? Imagine this… Every month, your fans eagerly await the next design contest. They submit their artwork—each piece bursting with creativity and passion for your brand, your game, your story. It’s more than just art. It’s their way of saying, “I’m part of this.” The submissions roll in, and it’s your turn to review. Some are wild, others are heartfelt, and a few are absolutely perfect. You and your team choose the ones that capture the essence of your community. Then comes the moment everyone’s been waiting for… The winning designs are announced, and they’re not just art anymore. They’re official, limited-edition merch. But here’s the kicker… These designs aren’t just limited edition—they’re exclusive, available only for a short window. Fans rush to grab a piece of the moment. The artist earns a share of the revenue, turning their creativity into profit. Here’s why this matters: 1. Community Connection - Fans don’t just buy merch. They create it. They feel like they’re part of something bigger. 2. No External Designers Needed - Your fans provide the creativity. You just choose what works best. 3. Engagement Drives Revenue - The buzz from these contests builds hype and increases sales. 4. Scarcity Creates Urgency - Limited-time drops mean fans act fast, driving both sales and excitement. Now, think about it… What if every piece of your merch had a story behind it? A story written by your fans, for your fans. But before you can make this a reality, here’s what you need to consider: FanArt Licensing - You need a system to manage submissions, approvals, and revenue sharing. Brand Alignment - Ensuring designs match your brand is key. Production & Fulfilment - Managing on-demand production and getting those exclusive drops to your fans on time. That’s where MOD comes in. Our FanArt Licensing system makes all of this possible—from submissions to sales—so you can focus on what matters: your fans. Curious about how this could work for your brand? Let’s chat about how fan-driven merch could transform your business. #API #CustomIntegrations #TechSolutions #OnDemandMerchandise #EcommerceInnovation #Customization #MODinc #Fanart #CreatorEconomy #Licensing #FanExperience

Fascinating to see an article like this on the (digital) front page of The Guardian the other day. However, I do feel it's very poor of the piece to not expand on what 'dark pattern' tactics are, and how actually they have their foundation in design thinking. Dark patterns, or deceptive design patterns, are user interface designs crafted to manipulate or mislead users into making decisions they might perhaps not otherwise make. What's really interesting is that these design tactics exploit cognitive biases such loss aversion, anchoring bias and social proof, and use design elements like misleading labels, pre-selected options, or confusing navigation to drive behaviours that benefit the brand/organisation over the user. The ethical implications are of course significant, and as marketers, designers, and developers, we must ensure that innovation doesn't exploit users. That way disaster lies. That said... I can't help but doff my cap to (some) architects of dark pattern design. I see some of them as masters of subtle manipulation. They are the Moriarty to responsible design thinking's Sherlock Holmes. You're quietly impressed by their work, even if you're not supposed to be. #brandrationale #UX #DarkPatterns #EthicalDesign #alwaysreadthesmallprint

🔍 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙒𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙏𝙤𝙥 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙇𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙨? From Burger King to Volkswagen and Warner Brothers, big brands are embracing a trend called debranding. And it's more than just a style choice—it’s a smart move to stay relevant. Here’s why: 📱Designed for Small Screens: With 92% of internet users browsing on mobile, logos need to look sharp on small screens. Simple, flat designs scale perfectly and load faster, enhancing the user experience. 💡 Memorability Boost: Did you know that simple logos are 13% more memorable? Think Apple or Nike—minimalist logos stick in your mind, helping brands become unforgettable icons. 🏆 Reflecting Maturity: When brands like Google and Airbnb evolved, they transitioned from playful logos to sleek, flat designs, signaling their shift from scrappy startups to industry leaders. 🤝 Minimalism as the New Standard: Today, 50+ major brands have adopted flat logos, proving that simplicity is no longer a trend—it’s the new norm in visual branding. 🌍 Universal Adaptability: Whether on a billboard or app icon, simplified logos work across all media, keeping brands agile and relevant in the fast-paced digital world. The takeaway? 👇 Simplifying your brand isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about staying relevant and connected with modern consumers. #debranding #LogoDesign #MarketingStrategy #BrandEvolution #DesignInnovation #FutureOfBranding

The Playful Revolution: Redefining Product Design for Gen Z and Gen Alpha The new consumer culture demands the integration of play into product design. As we peer at the new generations, Generation Z and their successors, Generation Alpha, we see a shift in the way products are conceptualized, designed, and marketed. Generation Z are the architects of a new era, shaped by the digital revolution. With their voracious appetite for online content and their affinity for authenticity, they have redefined the rules of engagement for brands. For them, the product is about the experience it offers. Enter Generation Alpha, the digital natives who are growing up in a world where technology is everyday life. For them, play is a way of interacting with the world around them. They are the driving force behind the rise of "Instagramable" products—items that serve a practical purpose and more importantly provide a canvas for creative expression. The most intriguing aspect of this trend is the emergence of "kidulting"—a cultural phenomenon where adults embrace their inner child and indulge in nostalgia-fueled activities. In a world that's constantly pushing us to move faster and do more, kidulting serves as a gentle reminder to slow down and savor the simple pleasures of life. So, what does this mean for product design? It means that designers must think beyond functionality and aesthetics and focus on creating immersive experiences that tap into the innate desire for play. Whether it's a smartphone case that doubles as a mini-puzzle or a kitchen gadget that turns meal prep into a game, the possibilities are endless. The product experience is also about the story behind it. Brands that understand the power of storytelling and leverage it to create emotional connections with their audience will ultimately win the hearts and minds of Gen Z and Gen Alpha. In this brave new world of consumerism, the lines between work and play are becoming increasingly blurred. Featured here are products that celebrate the spirit of playfulness that fuels innovation and creativity in a world that's constantly changing, the ability to play may just be the ultimate superpower.
