I skipped college, pursued animation, and took on odd jobs to fund my dream. My parents weren’t happy, but I moved out at 20 and edited 16-hour days to build my freelance business. There were setbacks - people left when they didn’t see a future. But I kept going, built a team of over 40 talented people. We do over $250K in annual revenue and work with some of the biggest YouTubers globally. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s to just keep working towards your goal, no matter the obstacles. After producing 1000s of reels/shorts for creators, agencies, founders and brands During my 6 years as a post-content creator, I’ve tried hundreds of things, but these 5 tips helped me and my clients gain 1 lakh+ views! 1. Shoot videos with vibe and emotion Use expressions + hand gestures. 2. Experiment with different rhythms, tones, and delivery. 3. In hooks (first 5-10 seconds), introduce a new element every sec. Use bold text, motion graphics, b-rolls, etc. + SFX like mouse clicks or hard whooshes. 4. Switch music tracks to avoid monotony. Use 3 music tracks: ↳ 1st for the hook ↳ 2nd for the mid-section ↳ 3rd for the CTA or ending. 5. Use zoom-ins mid-sentence for impact. Pro Tip! Use visual hooks with mouse click sound effects—text, faces, or anything recognizable works great as a visual hook. Get creative with memes in the hook and other parts of the video! This is a far better way to get clients that worked wonders for me. Starting out as a freelance Videographer and Video Editor, the only way I learnt was to outreach 100 people every single day on different platforms with a single sales pitch just by tweaking the names and some words. The problem with this is getting quality clients, clients you want to work with is very difficult. Onboarding clients without adding any value to the money they are investing makes you in even worse position. But there is a better way, 1) Research 10-20 accounts thoroughly to whom you want to work with. 2) Dm them directly starting with some good points and then get their attention on the problem and how will that affect their business. 3) Mention clearly how you can help them to solve that problem with your skills. Chances are very high that you will convert them into a client in comparison to mindlessly dming every founder without any specific research about them. With this, I not only got the client but also helped them to achieve their desired goals as well in return they referred me to others. Now building a video advertising & content company Mindless Media is all because of this.
